If I could give them zero stars, I would. I dropped off a piece of mail that got to the recipient without anything in the package. I went directly to them. They then said that I had used the wrong packaging for the item and the woman said shed seen how those kinds of envelopes "tear up the letters behind it and are often lost" and how "six or seven people have to stop work to unnamed the machine". First off, theres no standardized list that says what kind of package can be sent in what kind of package. Second, Im certainly not the only person whos put a very small item in a letter envelope. Third, the envelope was perfectly intact! The item inside was gone. And last, OK, I made a mistake in packaging. I accept that. And I may not have been the politest customer, but I didnt yell, merely pointed out that as Im not a USPS employee, I wouldnt know how their sorting facilities worked. But giving me a lecture on how damaging it is certainly doesnt help me with my item thats missing! Then they said they would give me the customer service number for the central processing facility in our area, the guy went behind the desk and was gone for several minutes. He showed back up and didnt have the number. One counter person did notice and told him to give the number, but I was so frustrated I just left. Now Ive been on the phone with USPS hotline for...53 minutes. This was a very important item. Just because the exact specific packaging was not used (though theres no standardized way to send such a tiny item, and I used an addressed, stamped, sealed, envelope) DOES NOT MEAN that my items dont deserve to delivered. UPS and FedEx for me in all but the direst of circumstances from now on. Absolutely appalling service.

Every time I go here, its a disappointment. The staff is always rude and condescending. Three times theyve attempted to milk me for higher shipping rates when trying to send books Media Mail and then argued with me that the books I was sending werent considered media. If a package doesnt fit in my mailbox, they send it back to the sender rather than leaving me a notice and allowing me to pick it up at their office. Today they threatened to keep the $100.00 book I was trying to mail until I could pay cash for the envelope I needed to ship it in because their debit/credit machine wasnt working... a detail they didnt tell me until theyd seen me address the envelope and have my debit card in my hand at the counter the entire time. No one answers the phone. Asking questions and getting answers is like pulling teeth and when you return to follow up on the information given, its changed. If I entered with an attitude, I might understand. But I just want to mail my legibly addressed packages and get out. No amount of politeness seems to help. Inattentive, rude and lazy. I will start driving out of my way to another post office just avoid these people.

My experiences with the staff here have been positive (everyone has been very helpful and given very good service when Ive had to come in). My experience with my mailbox service at the post office has been positive (my renewal was sent on time, and I could pay for it at the kiosk or online which is convenient). My experiences with receiving packages and letters to my actual apartment complex has not been good. I received a letter from my grandmother that contained was supposed to contain a check and two tiny silver hearts-- none of which were in the envelope. The envelope was also sent back to my grandmother, without the contents in the envelope. My father sent a gift to me in a large bubble wrap envelope, and half of the contents were missing by the time I got the package. There was clearly a hole in several parts of the package, granted they are parts that might have had normal wear and tear but the damage was significant. Ive since just stuck with a PO box, and have had minimal troubles with receiving mail and or packages. Its a shame that it took an extra $80 a year to get the service promised.

Constant issues with this post office. I have an online business and ship hundreds of packages a month. I refuse to wait through the ridiculously long line everyday so I usually drop packages in the acceptance bins instead since the packages have a prepaid label. Often the packages arent scanned until the following morning (this is exceptionally frustrating for time sensitive packages including Express mail!), even though the pickup times posted on the boxes show that the packages will be picked up at 5:15pm. Not to mention that mail is frequently marked as delivered to my home even though the packages dont arrive until a day or two later. The post office never returns calls even after complaining and getting a case number from the USPS 1-800 number. I finally got the direct line and, of course, nobody answers. Although UPS and FedEx are far pricier, Im on the verge of switching. *SIDE NOTE* Eloy is the one counter person that always goes above and beyond. Thank you for that Eloy!

This post office is perhaps the worst one Ive been in. Obviously, ones standards must be low when visiting a post office, but the staff here really test my self-control. They are unbelievably slow, almost deliberately so. The simple act of picking up a package can easily take 20 minutes due to the length of the ever-present and slow-moving line. They also seem to take many liberties with how they handle packages. Two days ago, I actually saw a worker throw a small package--for which the customer paid first class postage--into a bin, realize it was the wrong bin, pick up said package with a long set of tongs, and then throw it with the tongs into the correct bin. This whole exchange took about 3-4 minutes, during which time I just watched from the unmoving line. Also, the newer location into which they relocated is somehow smaller and worse than the original one. But hey, at least we got a medi clinic and Torchys Tacos out the ordeal.

The staff at this USPS facility is horrible. I know mistakes can be made and packages can be lost, but the fact that one of their staff members made it out to be my fault is an example of horrible customer service. When I asked what I should do he responded, "Just wait for it." I came back several days and requested for him to check for my package in the database or their facility. After several minutes of waiting he came back with a Product Tracking Form that clearly showed that my order had simply disappeared while in route with their delivery driver. Now it its my responsibility to contact the company from whom I purchased the book. When I asked for a customer review card he said just go online. My tip is dont waste your time with USPS San Marcos.

They wonder why they are losing money , well this is a small start, they cannot pick all and scan my Ebay pkgs.. even looking them, they will deliver mail right on top of them. They have delivered my mail to the neighbors and they will not even pick my mail going out. Right now have an electric bill lost not delivered. They have run over a package they dropped , I had to chase them down for that. As I am typing this their line is busy and has been for a long time today. I texted my normal carrier about a half hour ago to let them what is going on because he has been off after having an accident. I could be getting a Discount on Ebay but they are too lazy to scan packages when picked follow lead if you have an issue , Thanks
