Awhile ago I took my cars to this AAMCO for any work for a few years. The father and daughter who own the shop are very friendly and nice... as long as there isnt a problem. I went in for an oil leak which they started "fixing" without any diagnosis. To make a long story shorter, the third time that they worked on the leak, a few miles down the road after picking up the car the engine is making unhealthy sounds, smoke is pouring out and the oil light had been on since leaving the shop. That they worked on an oil leak and didnt make sure there was oil in the car afterward isnt what bothered me most... mistakes happen. It was how they handled the situation. The owner, Mr. W., took absolutely no responsibility for the problem. His story changed several times, even blaming it on me once for not checking the oil before driving away. He acted like he was doing me the greatest kindness to tow the car back to the shop and replacing a $5 gasket. His co-owner daughter admitted in private to my wife that their mechanic had probably forgotten to fill it with oil after working on it. Anyway, I would avoid this AAMCO. They have okay pricing and get to your car quickly, but if you should ever have an issue with them, dont expect them to take any responsibility for their mistakes. As a side note, we took the car to another mechanic to make sure their wasnt permanent damage. The other shop looked for a few minutes and had half dozen things to say that really called into question the competency and honesty of the AAMCO work in the first place. Oh, and the car still had an oil leak.

Im not someone who usually posts about bad experiences with companies, but I keep getting notifications to "Tell us about your experience" so here it is: I paid $500 for nothing... the first guy I talked to said that the repair he suggested would completely repair my transmission, which I found out was a total lie. Then I was told that they would have to make the repair and it should take care of the problem, but theres no guarantee, but I figured that these are suppose to be experts and supposedly they did a deep diagnostic, so surely they wouldnt suggest a repair that wouldnt make a significant different... I was wrong... My transmission is maybe 10% better. Really its barely any better, definitely not $500 worth. I just cant believe how time and again car repair shops live up to the stereotype of being untrustworthy; obviously its not just a stereotype. This will be my last of several bad experiences with Aamco Transmissions; I will never go to any Aamco every again for transmission repairs. Because if you know a repair isnt actually going to repair the problem dont suggest it. You have lost me as a customer for life. If anyone has any good suggestions of transmission repair places you can trust (if they even exist) please let me know.

This is a 4 person family owned and operated franchise and I have nothing but good things to say about them and their car shop. I brought my car into this Aamco nearly 2 years ago and have kept coming back because of their great service and their even better integrity. They really do care about the customer. What a relief it was to find a place that didnt nickel and dime you if you needed something tweaked, fine tuned, or diagnosed. On every repair they have done on my car they have gone to great lengths to let me know what my options were and to find the one that fits my budget and my needs. They will also do everything they can do make sure that problem you are having isnt a huge repair. And about the review with the faulty slave/master cylinder... that was the problem i originally came to them with and although it needed some follow-up visits to get it "just right"... they did just that without charging me for those visits. I wont go anywhere else for engine work. The owner, Wood Van Cott is always very helpful as is Amy who is at the front full-time. And by the way, I havent been in their for a year and just last week they still remembered my name!

I took my car into Grease Monkey today to get my coolant flushed. When they opened the cap it was so black and think that they wouldnt touch it. They suggested I go to the AAMCO in American fork, UT to get it fixed by the pros. Being from Michigan I have always driven American made cars. It also means I have seen my fair share of car repair shops. I have never had a very good experience with local shops. They are always dirty and the customer service is non-existent. But AAMCO blew me away. I have never had such a good experience. The place was clean and the employees were incredibly nice. Woodrow M. Van Cott was especially helpful. He let me talk all about the problem I was having with the coolant and he seemed to really listen to me. He treated me like someone who cared about their car and cared about how to fix it. He was dressed nicely and had a great smile. He made me feel happy and confident about the work they did on my car. I will be going back to this place for everything my car needs and I will tell everyone I know as well. It is very rare to find a car repair shop this good.

We used to always go to this AAMCO (we have used several people before them & all were highly recommended) and were very happy with the service that we got. We moved to Herriman and decided to go to the AAMCO in Taylorsville and a few different people to fix our car. Long story short they wanted to charge us $200 to find out what the problem was then $1200 to fix it. We drove the hour drive down to this AAMCO because it was worth it. They found out what was wrong with it and fixed it same day (the other store wanted 2 days to find out what was wrong). The total came out to around $200. We are now going to drive down to this AAMCO from herriman (30 minute drive) forever now. We are loyal and extremely happy with them!

I cant in good faith recommend this business. They are sweet people but lie about what service they provide. I had an ABS light come on. They checked it out and gave me a quote of $250 to repair the transmission but requested $100 upfront to do "analysis work". I paid the $100 and they then quoted me $820 to the repair. I took it in for the repair and they told me I needed a new transmission and should just trade in the vehicle. When I asked about the $100 analysis...they said they only drove it around for a few minutes and guessed at what the problem was. They refused to return my $100. I took it to another shop and had it repaired. Both AAMCOs original guess at what the problem was and final solution were incorrect.

My family has taken all of our cars to this place for years and we have always been very pleased with the fairness and honesty of aamco. I just took my truck in believing that it had rod knock and that I was going to need an expensive engine rebuild or replacement but the technician was very knowledgeable and diagnosed it to be a completely different and explained everything well and showed me the problem and they were able to get me all the right parts and have my truck back up and running quickly and the cost seemed like a very fair price to me! Definitely would recommend this shop to others looking for quality work done in a timely manner, for a great affordable price. Thank you aamco :)
