Sadly, my experience was not what I expected. The men arrived outside of their 2-hour window. The repair, a fairly simple procedure on a tankless water heater, took there and a half hours - they brought two men, dont know why. Total cost was very high for what I expected because it took so long. There was an issue with billing - I had to leave the men while I went to a business meeting across town. Before I left, I asked if they wanted me to leave a credit card. They assured me they could have a bill sent to my home. I had to text back and forth with my au pair while driving back across town (voice transcription texting only, but still...) to find out that they were wrong, their business office couldnt bill me, and they needed a credit card number now. I mean, I TRIED to make things easy for them, for gosh sakes! I TRIED to leave a credit card with them! So, thats three strikes already: 1) late; 2) billing issues; 3) more expensive than anticipated (by about 40%!) But then their manager called me. I guess he just wanted to yell at an unhappy customer? Because thats what he did. "Im sorry they told you the wrong thing, but NOBODY in the service industry bills people, everyone ALWAYS take a credit card. We never bill anyone unless theyre one of our best customers." (Thanks for NOT treating me, a new customer, like one of your best customers...its much harder to win new customers than to keep old ones, by the way...just sayin.) After for yelling at me for a while, and trying to justify what I felt was a very bad experience, he finally said "this is an unproductive conversation." and we ended the call. Anyway, I couldnt recommend this business for anything; the manager, at least, was not a "gentleman," at least not to me. Best of luck if you hire them, I hope your experience is different than mine.

You cant get any better than this! While the name sounds expensive, this company is competitively priced and they wont rip you off. They are honest, have professional integrity, and will get the job done in a professional manner. This company is highly responsive, show up on time, and works quickly. The Gentleman Plumber is the best plumbing company I have encountered so far and I have hired a few since living in Alexandria for 21 years. The Gentleman Plumbers master plumber Andy Perkins has a great demeanor and really knows what he is doing. I had a very complicated situation at my house where another plumber from another company had come in and created a lot of problems and did not do the work up to code. Andy came in, quickly identified the issues and promptly remedied all of the problems in less time than I expected and the bill was extremely reasonable, because they work fast. I cant speak highly enough about this company! A diamond in the rough, a real find!!

We renovated entire master bath. GP repaired piping, added piping, replaced all fixtures, installed new tub, shower, and commode on time and within the initial estimate. They also accommodated our schedule so that other contractors (tile, glass, granite, painters, electricians) could complete their tasks. Overall, I highly recommend GP.
