First contracted with American eight years ago when we became part time residents in Potomac Falls, VA. American did a splendid job of moving furniture, clothing and household goods to establish a second home. With no oversight on our part, from packing to loading to unpacking and putting things away, went flawlessly. The crew was professional, clean, very neat and very pleasant to work with. Two years later, when a much larger apartment became available in the retirement community, American moved us again. We were not disappointed with our choice, there arent superlatives adequate to describe how well the move was executed. Two year later we decided to move most of the furniture, art, collectibles, and many other household goods from out Mt. Vernon home to the apartment. A multi-task effort that started with removing the contents of the apartment and putting all in temporary storage, then a significant move of much of what we wanted to live with the rest of our days from our home to the apartment, followed by moving all the leftovers back to our Mt. Vernon home, one more time went flawlessly. As we wanted our Mt.Vernon home to continue as our primary residence, they painstakingly made sure all the leftovers brought back looked as elegant as could be. I should add that we had such trust and confidence in the honesty and integrity of the moving crew that we left them to do their job with little to no oversight by us. This was a job we couldnt imagine trusting anyone but American Moving to do just right, and they did! Finally, we put our home on the market, and in July 2012 the final move of clothing, kitchen and pantry, and the rest of what we used in our home, with significant downsizing took place. But this time, the crew of professionals from American made what could have been a traumatic even feel far easier than we could have expected with some other company. the team treated our property and homes as if they were theirs, always with extra care to do everything just right!

Moved from Northern VA to the DE coast. I was looking for a small, preferably local, mover rather than a giant firm for many reasons, including bundling our stuff with other households, different teams working on my stuff, bureaucratic red tape, etc.. I looked on Angies List and interviewed and got quotes from 4 highly-rated movers that met my general criteria. Mike Eybers came out and did our estimate. Having the owner do this was impressive. Mike put together a bid, with a cap, that was very competitive. The final price was under the estimate and under the cap. The communications before during and after the move were excellent. Mike himself followed up a few days after the move to make sure everything went well. The packers and movers showed up on time, worked hard, and got the job done right. They were very pleasant to work with and accommodated our specific instructions. I gave them a good tip to show my appreciation and get themselves some dinner after a hard days work. With about half our boxes unpacked so far, including all our kitchen dishes, we have found no broken items. I highly recommend American Movers and would use them again (although I have NO desire to move any time soon).

A very special thanks to Mike and his team regarding our move. In October, 2015 on a very short notice, I called and said that I needed to have furniture picked up and delivered to another location at least 50 miles away all in the same day. Mike looked at the schedule and somehow made room for that move to take place quickly in less than a week. I appreciated the attention and the care taken with the furniture at pick-up, as well as the time taken to place my furniture at time of delivery. The individuals at both the pick-up/drop-off locations were both very complimentary regarding Mikes team who handled the move. So I could not have been more pleased from the time I first spoke to Mike thru the time the final payment was made at delivery. I found the entire experience one that causes me to write this recommendation much after the fact of the move. I highly recommend this company for anyone with moving needs!

We have used American Moving on 3 occasions and have nothing but absolutely superlatives for the companys responsiveness, timeliness, and care of our furniture and other belongings. The initial move was our entire household from Mount Vernon to Falcons Landing in Potomac Falls. The care exhibited in the packing and moving of our belongings was the best we have experienced in a lifetime of moves due to reassignments. Mike Ebers, the President/Owner, is great to deal with. He personally gets involved and when he commits to dates and times you can count on it. Since the move, we have had Mike and his crew come to our home and help us move our furniture to accommodate painters, etc. and his attention to detail on our small requests has been as professional, economical and caring as our major household move. We recommend him highly!

After interviewing several moving and storage companies I selected this company as I was very impressed with Mike Eybers, the owner, and his competitive bid. The company received new furniture from manufacturers and stored the pieces until our new home was completed. The company also moved our belongings from our old house to the new house. The men who did the work were real professionals. No damage to any piece of furniture or to the house. The job was complicated by winding staircases to the basement and the top floor. They even had to hire a forklift to hoist a large wall unit 20 feet from the ground to a sitting room balcony on the third level in order to place it inside the house. This is our sixth move and it was our best. Without hesitation I heartily recommend American Moving and Storage in Sterling, VA.

The morning of my move, I was still unsure if my new house would be ready. Mike, the owner, was calm and immediately had a back up plan. The moving crew continued working while I got things squared away, so that no matter where I went, my belongings would be safe. I was totally amazed at how hard those guys worked. They treated both my old place and my new with the utmost care. My realtor was very impressed with their work ethic...and shes seen a lot of movers! Paula, in the office, had even volunteered to deliver some boxes to my old house when she noticed that we didnt live that far from each other. Every single person I dealt with was pleasant and so helpful. I got 3 estimates, and American was very competitive. I cannot recommend American Moving highly enough.
