I work down the street from this place for a large DoD contractor and decided to give this place a shot on my lunch break for a quick oil change. The guy came to my car and I asked him what the price was and how long it would take. He said $35 for an oil change. I thought this was standard; however, this isnt a Jiffy Lube (I suppose it used to be) and didnt understand how they could charge the same price (when a national chain has large overhead expenses). I mentioned the sign for $5 off located on the sign of the building and he said, "You had to mention this before I could give you the $5 off and this is only good for first time visitors". I informed him that I was a new customer. He gave me a new price of $30 (tax included) and it would take 10 minutes. I agreed to this price. After completing the oil change I paid for the service; however he said the price went up $5 since my car required 6 quarts of oil and it was too late to inform me since they had already removed the oil in my car. I asked him if he remembered my previous inquiry when arriving about the price and he said it was too late to inform me of the price change since the oil was already removed. I bickered with him for a minute, but he didnt want to honor his original price. I said fine, Ill just post a review on google and he suddenly changed his mind. I said dont worry about it. Its too late to make the correction. I wont come back to this shop and I dont want the money credited back on my card. Final bill was closer to $36. This place is a mom & pop oil change location that likely ended their franchise agreement with Jiffy Lube, but still charges the same price. I dont appreciate the sales tactics when I am quoted one price and charged another.

Like some other reviewers, I have had an excellent experience at American Lube over the past 5 years or so since I first decided to try it out. I too have taken my car there after being in other shops that told me I needed this and needed that, only to be assured by Am Lube that I did not need those things. I have also gone there when experiencing a problem to find out I did need some work done that was a little beyond my budget, and Carlos has always worked with me in these situations to prioritize what I should get taken care of first, second and third--has let me know what is urgent and what can wait. This is a highly valuable service to people who have to stretch their income and who drive a 13-year-old car that they cant afford to replace. I have been consistently pleased at the detail of their explanations about whats wrong and their patience when dealing with someone who doesnt know much about cars or how they work or whats related to what. Ive found everybody who works there to be very considerate--offering to make more coffee, bringing out a chair for me to sit on, volunteering to drive me home if the car needs to stay in the shop longer than anticipated. Im really going to miss Carlos, though, whom I just found out doesnt work there anymore, because I always felt my Buick was in the very best hands when he was looking after it; it was like he knew my Buick intimately and was determined to keep it running forever. Good luck, Carlos, wherever you are, and I hope the great service (and customer service) continues even without him. At least as long as Carlos was there, I felt this place was as honest as the day is long and I trusted them completely. Sure hope that doesnt change.

I ran into some unexpected engine trouble and happened to be close to this shop. After reading the good reviews on google, I decided to stop here. I had a GREAT experience with this shop. I ended up getting an oil change as well as the coil pack on my 3rd cylinder replaced. The bill was reasonable - really reasonable - and the manager and mechanics were a joy to work with. They were friendly, willing to talk me through the repairs, and accommodating. Im a 24 year old girl - and they treated me with respect and didnt try to take advantage of me. They were not pushy or rude. They even sent someone to pick me up at my hours (4 miles away) when the repairs were finished (!), and the price was the same as they said it was going to be at the beginning. The lobby is nice - TV, WiFi, vending machines, toys for kids to play with - and they got me in and out of there as quickly as possible. I was thoroughly impressed with this shop and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for repairs or routine maintenance. I will definitely be going back to this shop!!

I really like the service offered at this place. The location is pretty convenient and the people is very amicable. I thought it to be a Jiffy Lube, but I later found out that this place is an independent shop. I must it is nothing like Jiffy Lube, the people is friendly and they give you a very detailed estimate of the cars problems. About the prices, they are somewhat high, but it pays off because once they repair your car, it does not give you the same problem twice. I recently foud out that they have a facebook page and they offer a lot of especials and discounts almost every day! This place cares more for the customer than what it does for the money!!!

after reading all the positive reviews, i came here to get my oil changed. they did a great job. they recommended some services i should get done, but did not pressure me to do so. price they told me before i handed over the car was the price i paid. very nice lounge area with a TV, WiFi, and vending machine. i used to buy my own oil and take it to the Liberty gas station in baileys crossroads to get it changed, but not only do i save money going to American Lube, but i also dont have to wait nearly as long. i was probably only there about 30 minutes. i will definitely come back here when i need my oil changed again.

I took my car in for an oil change after reading the google reviews. I was very impressed at the service here. After looking over my vehicle, they brought me out to the garage and explained in detail what they had done, and possible things that needed to be fixed in the near future. Most of these problems with my vehicle I was aware of already, and really appreciated the honesty and fact that I didnt feel like they were trying to push me into getting the fixes done that day. Overall I was extremely impressed and will be going back in the future.

Took a Jeep Cherokee in for a routine oil change/checkup, that seemed to go over well enough. Forward couple weeks later- the coolant exploded out onto the side of my jeep on 495. The technicians did not sufficiently tighten the coolant cap. Luckily I noticed the issue when it stopped blowing hot air and filled it with tap water at the earliest opportunity. Judging by these peoples gross incompetence I would be careful and WATCH what theyre doing. As far as I know they may have put in too little oil or something else silly..
