Would vote negative if I could. Ive been purchasing things for 2 years here and only got service done once before. I had no real complaints. 2 and a half weeks ago, I tried to get my oil changed because of their $20 deal. I brought my own oil and filter. After an hour, they called and told me they could not change the oil due to the oil plug. Ok, thats fine. They didnt charge me. I got home, and I found oil spilled all across the back seat of my vehicle. They did not place the cap on the 5 qt jug of oil when they left it in my car. I went in, and was kind. Didnt demand anything. Only asked to see what could be done about it. They said theyd inform the service manager. I didnt hear anything for three days. Went in, they said the service manager, Russ is probably reviewing it. Came back, 3 days later, they said hes not there, but will call me soon. 3 days later, I wasnt acknowledged. I went to the sales desk and the store manager told me he absolutely could not do anything related to service. Came back 3 days later, was not acknowledged. Asked if theres something I could do. Sales directed me to 1800 pep boys. I thanked them and did not call. I went back in 2 days later, was not acknowledged. I called 1800 pep boys and they assured me they would get back to me within 48 hours. If not, they would call the area director. I did NOT receive a call. I called back, 48.5 hours later on a Thursday and they said they would direct it to the AD, and I would hear something within 48 hours. 48 hours later, nothing!!! I called and they were closed. Ok, its Saturday whatever. I called again today, at noon pacific time, and they had no answers. They said they would forward it off to the AD again. I am writing this review as I do hope no one visits their service department, unless you expect to not be acknowledged when they mess up your car. The fact that they literally dont acknowledge me, shows that they simply do not care about customer service. I did not demand anything. I did not ask for anything. I simply asked to see if we could discuss a solution. never doing service here again! -3/10 stars

I wish I had checked out the reviews here before having them install the hitch. I couldve done it myself but didnt have time. So here is what happened last weekend. Bought a hitch there and had it install in the service department. After its installed, I got home and check the hitch installation, found out a part is missing from the installation ( a U-bolt and nuts to tight to the tight down hook). I called the service department, and they told me there is no such part in the package, and asked me to call the manufacture. I thought ok, maybe the part was not in the package, but then I thought if they followed the instruction, then they should notice a part is missing and they shouldve let me know. But they didnt so that made me think they didnt even follow the instruction to install the hitch at all. So I called again to have them retrieve the installation instruction, and they said ok. After a few minutes, they told me they found the missing parts from the garbage can, and they asked me to come back to the shop to have it install the next day. Yes, the next day. They didnt even want to fix their mistake right away. So I went back the next day to have it install. I told the person at the service desk to install it per the manufactures instruction, and she told me she doesnt have the instruction. I was like are you going to just guess that torque specification when tightening up the nuts to the bolt? So I have her went online to download the instruction and give it to the technician. Its finally installed after a while. Although, the two nuts were not quite balanced, one is longer and the other is shorter. The manufacture suggested the nuts should be balanced when tightened to the u-bolt. The technician said thats the way it is. He couldnt get them balanced. During this whole incident, no one apologize for their mistake, and didnt make any appropriate gestures to compensate my time spent and inconvenience caused by their mistake. This is just unacceptable!! Not even worth one start!!

Pep Boys, do everything for less? Thats a joke in itself. A friend of mine recently had a terrible experience with them and she was a REFERRED customer. Heres the story: My friend-lets name her E-Ms.-called to re-schedule her service with Pep Boys Auto Parts and Service, the guy Travis, was the one who picked up. Well, Ms. E politely decline her service for a Sunday morning 9:00. Travis got all snark with her request and made a series of questions from "are you scheduling for another time?"-to-"Are you canceling?" Ms. E replied yes and the man inclined to type on his computer. Upon his informational search something went "click" and my mother was disconnected from the service place and Travis. Now, from what I heard and the retelling of her, the phone was hung up in her face rather rudely and Travis didnt perceive to call back, leaving Ms. E dumbfounded and with little to nothing to answer with. Ms. E was a valued, referred customer who was primitively cut off from help. Help in which this auto parts and place was in service to. I dont know whats up with this places customer service, but Ill be frank that we will NEVER ask for help from them again. I dont know anyone elses experience but from the not-so-recent reviews they havent been doing so well. I should rate this but it needs no rating from the way a valued person was treated. By no means does a person rudely hangs a phone in a customers face and doesnt precede to call back. Under no circumstances. The customer service is poorly developed. I would think UNDER-developed. One thing is for certain, I wouldnt be coming anywhere near here(or rather call) for my car appointment. Friendly service and people is what they are in dire need right now.

Please read the reviews and believe. They charged my daughter close to $500-$600 dollars for oil change and brakes. She had to drive over 40 hours and her brakes were still not working properly after they installed them. Oil changes, well the techs need more practice, and the tires, yes they will strip the diddles that go on the tires. It happened to my car, one of my tires almost came off on the freeway, it was so scary, right after I left Pep Boys. All the negative reports are true, no surprise. There are a couple of techs that are sharp but the rest are just not dependable to work on vehicles. I noticed that every time the charge is super high for minor work and the work never last, nor is it safe to drive your vehicle afterwards. I was so disappointed because the Pep Boys in Texas that I was so dependent upon always did a great job no matter what, consistent, dependable, excellent customer service, and you could depend on an ETA for your vehicle, total knowledge of what they were doing each step of the way, and just all around great car care service. I went into shock with the Pep Boys in Everett, WA. Since I have used Pep Boys for years I literally have no idea where to go now. They need several staff meetings/seminars/conferences on customer service skills, and basic mechanical know-how. Just a refresher course on the basics of car maintenance, and please do not allow the newbies to work on vehicles without a mentor inspecting the work afterwards. They will ruin your vehicle, please think twice before going here.
