I brought my 2000 Honda CRV in because of a check engine light. All I knew was that it had something to do with the air intake and that something was misfiring. After charging me nearly $150 to only diagnose what was wrong, they told me the problem was the manifold intake gasket that needed replacing, which would cost another $450. Fine, but I had to wait until my next paycheck. So I bring the car in on Thursday night so that I can pick it back up after work on Friday. On Friday I drive out of the lot and the car sounds great!!! Like driving a whole new vehicle. Except, Im at the gas station on the way home and a man says to me, "Hey, your car is leaking antifreeze." I look, and antifreeze is nearly pouring out of the front end of my car. Alarming to say the least. So I get home and realize that not only are they already closed for the day, they are closed for the weekend! Not a big deal, I can wait until Monday. I just took my car in to have them fix whatever it was that happened while my car was with them Thursday and Friday, and he takes 3 minutes and says, "Your radiator is cracked. We were working over here but its here that its cracked so I dont know how it happened." Are you kidding me? I dropped my car off with you and got it back with a cracked radiator??? He told me he could write me up a new quote to have it fixed. I immediately started bawling and told him no. Now, I have an empty bank account and a car that I cant drive. Thanks Gregs!

As a woman I think Im looking else where. Not too impressed with them taking advantage of women. They keep upselling business by telling you some thing is wrong with your car but when you take it to the dealership they tell you "Every thing is fine." I think Im done here. Use to be life long customers but if I dont take a man with me they take advantage of me for being female. Five stars for customer service but zero stars for ethicalness. Ive had several attempts of them telling me rodents have been causing damage to my vehicle. Another mechanics opinion at more reputable places told me there was no sign nor damage. Theyve told me that my water pump needs replacing when it was functionally new and recently replaced. They told one of my front struts was leaking when the dealership found it perfectly functional. No damage working perfectly fine. Told me the light bulbs in the back needed replacing. Odd? I use window reflections to see if theyre functional. I checked yesterday. All functional. I get the major 10k services done at the dealerships. Each time Im in they pressure me to get the most recent service done. I tell them "No, I got it done at the dealership." and with each visit I get another reminder. The list goes on. This is just the last two visits. Not reputable. Looking else where. Good mechanics but not reputable.

I loved this shop and have been bringing my van and truck for service here, until last time. I will not come back here anymore or recommend anyone. What happened was I had this shop service all brakes, rear and front, for my Odyssey van (in 2013, with ~103K odo) The van is going well until I heard loud metal grinding on the rear wheel. I brought it back to the shop, thinking anything but the brakes. Well the inspection is done and the conclusion was rear pad worn to metal, Id have to replace the pad and the rotor (~130K on odometer). The guy explained to me that the rear pad is smaller than the front ones, which still has 6/10, thus wear out faster. I do not believe it. It could have worn out, but to the metal after only 27K, with no difference in driving condition, with front pad still 6/10? My conclusion is either they did not service the rear brake in 2013, or they had a dirt cheap pad, the former is very likely. Anyway, I am very disappointed at this shop now.

Love Gregs! We have taken our cars here for the past 15 years. Just last month my CRV started sputtering on the 405 and I limped into Gregs on Sunset and asked if they could help me out at the last minute. They fit me in the next day and had my car up and running. Just to find the next day it had the same issue - sputtering on the 405 again. The guys at Gregs took it right in for no charge and went further into the system and found the secondary issue and repaired that problem while keeping us informed the entire time. I love it that they always tell me what they are doing and exactly how much it will cost and there is no upselling or BS. I have never been disappointed or felt taken advantage of with their service. My brother and sister and parents also take their autos to Gregs and are also pleased with the service. If you want a trustworthy place for your car to be serviced, do not hesitate to take it to Gregs.

Gregs in Renton replaced the starter on my Honda. It worked great for a few weeks, until it occasionally failed to start. Each time it would eventually start after several tries and 30-40 minutes, but the times when it failed became more and more frequent until we eventually had 4 back-to-back trips where it failed. I left the car with Gregs for four days. They were unable to replicate the problem and unwilling to replace the faulty starter or fix their faulty work.

One of the few professional, reliable auto repair facilities in Renton. You will not be disappointed. No grouchy spouse or boozy, dishonest owner to contend with like some shops in our neighborhood. They have no problem working on older vehicles like my 1986 Toyota Pickup. Im hoping they can make the leap to German cars, so hapless owners wont have to deal with the ridiculous prices and crappy repairs at Ken Wrights Auto Pro rip-off disaster.

I love bringing my car to Gregs Japanese Auto for service. They are very professional, they do a good job with the car and I trust them with their work. I love the fact that the offer shuttle service, so I can drop off the car early, they bring me to work and they pick me up when the car is ready.

I trust them to diagnose problems and perform maintenance. They make the needed repairs at the price and in the time quoted. They are also polite, professional and understanding of people (like me) who have little understanding of cars. Consequently, my 2007 Accord keeps me going.

I can always count on the boys at Gregs Japanese Auto to do an outstanding job. I had my 1994 Nissan 240sx serviced by Victor and it came out looking better than when I sent it in. 10/10 would recommend.
