I can only describe my experience as poor. I originally took my 2001 Pathfinder to the Puyallup location mainly due to my great experience at the Lynwood location. The folks in Lynwood actually saved me from paying the Dodge dealer $3k for a transmission on my truck (cleaned a corroded solenoid). However, Ive had nothing but bad experience with the Puyallup location. The first time I had it in, they repaired the transmission, which took about two weeks. That lasted a day, and I had to have it towed back. Next, the transmission was completely replaced, at a cost of just under $4000. Oh, and they had it for another three weeks. All told, it was 38 days in which hey had the vehicle, either at their shop or at the Nissan dealership. Here it is, now December, and the vehicle is now back in their shop. At first, it was diagnosed as being a Mass Airflow Sensor problem. Great, fine, I said, replace it. They are charging me $500 for a $144 part, which is highway robbery. However, the truck is still not right, and they have to drop the transmission again. Theyve had it a week now, and are just now getting to the problem for which we brought it in. Just spoke with Sam, and theyll be bringing it back from the Nissan dealer to repair/replace the transmission again. Aside from the apparently lacking technical knowledge, customer service at this location tends to be an issue. I have found myself making daily phone calls to the shop to get news about my vehicle. I do this mainly because I have been promised phone calls with status updates, but the phone calls never come. When I get someone on the phone, usually Sam, I always seem to get "Well get to it tomorrow". So as of the writing of this review, Aamco Puyallup will have had my vehicle for a grand total of 45 days (38 the first time, and now 7 more). EDIT: It is now 1/3/2017. The truck was supposed to be ready on Friday, 12/30/2106. Surprise, surprise, it wasnt. Theyve promised to have it back to me today, after replacing the transmission AGAIN. I understand that youve had morons working their in the past. I understand that you can only move as fast as parts can arrive. Maybe pay for overnight shipping? Only hire the best? Youve had my vehicle for over sixty days. Make it right. Vince Ornato, if your listening, give me a call and please tell me that I will be getting my truck back soon.

Just purchased a 2007 avalanche and wanted to have a pre-purchase inspection... the manager (Alex) said they were free but couldnt guarantee getting it done but because the place of purchase has a 3 day return if not comfortable policy, I decided to call around only Aamco was available. So I said, if you all can do it before the place closes at 5pm, Id be willing to pay 100-150.00. He says bring it in, I stay literally 2.6mi from the shop. Hes not social, looks as if he really didnt want me there, but hey I want to make sure Im comfortable with my potential purchase so I overlook the cold shoulder interaction. Couple hours later...Alex calls and says by far best-kept truck hes seen in the shop. Goes on to say various leaks are prevalent and needs to remove transmission pan to see exactly where which would cost 285.00. I declined and said...Ill take truck back, he says Really...then goes on to say hey tell them Im interested in buying it. Arrives to Aamco and he again not customer friendly..does say "be with you in a minute". Prints and explains "findings", but as Im driving off.... suddenly my check engine light is on, traction control icon is light, and by the way... he charged me 138.00 for an hour of service that is now the below summary: So there was only one light originally shown on the dashboard which I informed him (Alex) about... now the check engine light is on which wasnt in the 2.5 days Ive driven it but immediately having left Aamco my deskboard is lite-up! Long story short, I will never do business with this shop again! So no Alex...I will not ask anyone to go half on covering the cost and bring it back to your shop to fix in order to make sure its done correctly...

ABOVE AND BEYOND!!! I came back to a dead truck in Renton after a long flight home from Texas. I had the hood up and my 14 month old daughter on my hip trying to figure out what I was going to do. About that time Manny (the owner of AAMCO) saw me and came over to offer his help. He jumped my battery and offered to drive back up to Renton the next day and tow my truck free of charge to his shop if it wouldnt start, he also offered to run a free diagnostic to see where the short was. Well my truck started up and I was able to drive home to Marysville. I was sooo impressed at Mannys geniune care for me and my daughter that I decided to make an appointment that week. I knew that my transmission was going so I thought they could check it as well. They were able to find what was causing the short right away and fixed it, they also fixed my springs (that were popping everytime I went around a corner) FREE of charge!! My husband and I decided to have them rebuild our transmission so I left the truck with AAMCO and came back to Marysville. Not only did they finish the job in a timely fashion but they delivered the truck to me in Marysville when it was finished at NO EXTRA COST to me!!! Which saved me about 4 and a half hours of sitting in traffic!! My husband is currently deployed so Manny was truly a blessing to me in so many ways. We will DEFINATELY be seeing him for any car care needs we have in the future. Manny and his team are one of a kind!

I have been using this Aamco for about 6 months now for various repairs and maintance to my van. I was initially surprised to find that they do more than transmission work, but I have been really pleased with the quality of the work they do. The managers and techs are friendly, knowledgible, and show a genuine concern for their customers; what I call "old school customer service". They dont just want to sell you something they want to fix your problem, knowing youll come back and tell others. I wait with my van while it is in the shop so Ive had to opportunity to oberserve many customer interactions and I am really impressed with how well they explain the problems at a level the customer can understand. My van overheated the other day and I took it to a shop next to where I was (not Aamco) where they tried to sell me some $400 coolent lines, part cost. I told them no and had them put some water in the car after it cooled down. I told the story to Jen at Aamco and they found out it was a thermostat. Talk about honesty. She could have easily tried to rip me off by saying the same thing the other shop did, but its not how they do business. Ian the tech that worked on my car was great showed a real concern for my car, explained what was going on, showed me the bad theremostat. You guys have a customer for life. Thanks for everything.
