It is time, Ive sat on this for over a year, letting it brew in the back of my head. This is going to be long. First off, my own mistakes were made. I bought a 2004 Ford Explorer. That vehicle has proven catastrophically unreliable and expensive to keep running. The second mistake was not outright verifying that this place rebuilds transmissions in house. They outsource repairs or bring in a completely different transmission. I assumed that because they had "transmission" in their name, they did the work in house. Wrong. My vehicle started acting up with a "check transmission" light and I verified in the coding that either 2nd or 3rd gear and O/D were failed. I brought my car to them and was given a few options, including a new transmission or a rebuilt (someone elses) transmission. I opted for the rebuilt and cheaper option. I was quoted around $3500. I hadnt realized that they didnt do their rebuilds in house, but at this point, I didnt want to pay for another inspection, so I gave the green light as that seems to be the running price for that vehicle. A few days later, I get a call stating that to get the transmission out, they had to sever the shift linkage, wiring harness, and cut one or more bolts that would have to be drilled and tapped. They were very accusatory of my "Midwest" vehicle and all the corrosion and said that is why they could not remove everything using normal methods. I am normally a DIY home mechanic. I have worked on almost everything save for the engine. I removed the transmission and replaced the clutch on a 91 Explorer with zero bolts cut. In fact, the only time I have ever had to cut a bolt was on the exhaust manifold on said 91, and on the lower strut bolt on the front drivers side wheel because it was fused in the steel grommet sleeve. But NEVER on a bolt for something like this. This is all without air tools. I would not have been as upset about all this if they hadnt bumped up the price by another $1000 to $4500 plus tax. These mechanics proved that they are either incredibly impatient and take short cuts, or they just flat out dont know what they are doing. This extraneous work was done without consulting me first. They simply called and said they had to do all this and the price was now more than 25% higher. At this point, I was livid, but stuck. The manager I talked to was very dismissive and talked to me like he assumed I didnt know jack about cars. Obviously, it is the other way around. If things had turned out fine upon pick up, I likely would not have written this scathing one star review. After leaving with a receipt for $5002 with tax, I very quickly determined there was a new high frequency vibration at 60 mph and above. Too high to be a wheel. Nonetheless, I had the wheel balances checked to find they were fine. I knew it had to be driveshaft or transmission related as it did it regardless of engine RPM or gear. I took my vehicle back to Redmond Tran. and told them my issue. They gave the vehicle back later saying that the driveshaft was out of phase and rotated the it 180°. I immediately realized that all this did was delay the vibration to about 65 mph. So no test drive... Not confident to take it back again, I took it to a different shop, Eastside Transmission. They told me that somehow the driveshaft was out of balance and needed replacement, and that my rear axle seals were leaking. I do not recall Redmond telling me about the axles, but I was so unhappy, I may have missed it. Several weeks, $1400 later, and roughly $6400 total, I had a working vehicle again. I asked Eastside about the added $1000 for the issues they had removing my transmission, and they said at most it would have been a couple hundred than quote price. In the end, mistakes were made on both sides. Honestly, I would have preferred to do the work myself, but I did not have a garage at the time, and automatic transmissions are far too heavy to remove on your own without special tools. Within six months, my shifter started getting stuck in park as well. Go somewhere else, maybe Eastside.

Brought my 66 Lemans once owned by Alice Cooper here because of their reputation and recommendations. Wanted to keep it original and brought them three different shifter assemblies to rebuild and make one good one. Try that at your average shop. Leo spoke my language, rebuilt the st300 and delivered more than expected, ahead of time at a very reasonable price. This company earned my repeat business and is highly recommended.

After doing some searching I was told to go and talk these guys and after talking with them and asking some questions they gave me the price to fix my Jeep. This was spot on no hiden fees or nothing just the one price they said. They gave me a invoice that broke down where every penny went and my Jeep runs like it was new. I have found the only place I will take any of my cars. DONT LOOK ANY FARTHER this is the best

Our family has been going to Leos for over 10 years. Three cars that are old have been kept running. Had a coolant leak in one, power steering fluid leak in the second and starter motor failure in the third, all in a three week period. Fast service and Leo always stands behind his work. As our kids got cars, Leo has been servicing theirs as well. Friendly, knowledgeable and absolutely trustworthy.
