We used White County Cable for our business ISP because they advertised themselves as offering the fastest internet speeds in the city. The internet speeds were adequately fast as promised (about 25 Meg Download, which is good relative to Arkansas terrible infrastructure). Unfortunately, our internet would crash and go unavailable multiple times throughout each and every business day. This resulted in average downtime of about 1 hour per business day (some days were even as bad as 2-3 hours, usually later in the afternoon). This cost our company an incogitable loss in revenue (50% of our business is ecommerce). The worst part: we called numerous times, ventilating this same issue over, and over, and over, and over again. The result: White County Cable replaced our modem THREE TIMES (every time claiming that it wasnt their WAN, but that we simply just had a bad modem). After 4 different modems (which were owned and installed by WCC themselves), White County Cable eventually just started telling us to reboot our modem when it crashed instead of trying to fix the problem (AKA it got to the point where it was obvious it was a highly technical issue on there in, and instead of incurring the cost of bringing in an engineer to investigate and resolve the issue, they decided to neglect the issue entirely, ignoring and even patronizing us and some of their other business-customers by insisting that it was something on our ends that were causing the internet failures). So to sum-up my experience with White County Cable: a lot of costly problems - all of which were just simply swept under the rug and ignored. My recommendation for Internet Service customers in and around Searcy, AR: - IF YOU ARE A BUSINESS AND CAN AFFORD THE HIGH MONTHLY COST - Get your Internet Service from Ritter Communications. Their infrastructure is all Fiber. Youre talking 24/7 Download speeds anywhere from 90-120 Mbs and about a 25 Mbs Upload (by far the fastest option in Arkansas). - IF YOU ARE A BUSINESS AND CANNOT AFFORD A HIGH MONTHLY BILL - Get your Internet Service from AT&T. It certainly wont be the fastest option (about 15 Mbs Download and 5 Mbs Upload), but it will be your most RELIABLE option. Waiting a couple of seconds to open your email when your network is crowded is A LOT better than losing ALL of your access for extended periods of times every business day. This is especially important if you do a lot of video conferencing, ecommerce, have a Voice Over IP (VoIP) phone system or access a corporate web portal as apart of your business process. - IF YOU ARE A HOME CUSTOMER WHO REQUIRES RELIABILITY - Get you Internet Service from AT&T, for similar reasons mentioned above. If you work from home, the reasons for getting AT&T are EXACTLY the same as above. If you are a hard-core gamer and CANNOT accept any network-drops while in the middle of a gaming session, get AT&T. As long as you dont have 4 people streaming Netflix at the same time your trying to play, you will never even notice the network is any slower and you can finally enjoy your World Of Warcraft, Call of Duty, etc. with a peace of mind. - IF YOU ARE A HOME CUSTOMER WHO REQUIRES SPEED OVER RELIABILITY - Go ahead and get your Internet Service from White County Cable. If you dont mind paying a decently hefty (relative to in-home internet service) bill every month for 24/7 Internet access and only actually get 21 hours or less a day, than go ahead and sign a contract with those clowns..(FYI, they dont refund you for the 50-80 internet-less downtime hours you will inevitably endure every month, even though youre paying for all 720). Youve been warned...

Dismal. They are about as bad as it gets. The service that they provide is sub-par at best. The connection regularly goes out for up to 10 minutes at a time with no notice. The download speeds are generally about a third of what is advertised and you should consider it a wonderful day if upload speeds are higher than .5Mbps... The problem is that they are the only internet provider aside from AT&Ts wireless network and they know it. With that knowledge, they charge exorbitant amounts and make no attempts to improve their service or care about their customers. On the business side, its almost worst. It took me six months to finally get them to set up an auto pay. I found out later it was because I was on a contract deal and they dont allow you to set up auto pay so that if you are late on a single payment they can jump you up to full rate. The problem I had was that I went overseas for two months and received a phone call while in Scotland saying Id missed a payment and thus had broken my contract. They not only cut off my service but immediately billed me for the wireless router that they were "renting" me. If you can find any other way to get your wireless, do it. Please. If there is any way to avoid giving these people your money then please take that route. I would pay twice this amount for "as advertised" service from anyone else.

In a day and age where the internet has become such a vital part of our society (and societies around the world,) how can it be justified to charge large amounts of money for an unstable internet service? I understand that it is impossible for the service to run at full speed 100% of the time, however, what I do not understand is how this company can be so INCREDIBLY unreliable when it comes to speed. Im sorry, but I just cannot accept consistently getting 8mbps or lower when I pay $60+ for an already measly 16mbps. Actually, they are reliable in the sense that my speed (and Im sure the speed of most of their customers) is continuously far below the expected and advertised speed. That being said, as soon as another provider comes to this area I will be switching. I gave this service two stars, one for supplying me with internet, even if it is only because they are the only ones around. The second star is for the people who work tech support for this shameful company. They have always been kind and present in conversation.

Long line at office to answer question about Internet promotion ending 1/21/2017. - EDITED FROM 3 to 1 STAR AFTER FEB 2017 INSTALLATION - To save $8/mo, I provided my own Motorola SB6141 modem [DOCSIS 3.0, not the old 1.0 some ISPs will try to pawn off on you]. That 6141 worked fine on my previous Time Warner [RoadRunner] network. White County Cable could not get it to work on their network, blaming the color [white] of my box. They claim the same model black-colored box would likely work. They claim their network engineers are looking into the issue. Here it is March: Im still waiting for their callback and still paying the extra $8/mo for their Arris DG2470 modem :( - AUG 2017, $70 move charge... Moved to a smaller apartment in same complex. Tech spent 30 secs screwing the one wire into their distribution box :(

No options in Searcy. The internet through White County cable is awful, and the best part is you cant call them directly at the local office. You have to call an 800 number. That should tell you all that you need to know. The speed that youre paying for always says (*up to...) which is standard for an isp but what they do not tell you is that your internet speed will bottom out in the evening when the internet traffic goes up. I pay for 16mbps internet and it is very common in the evening to get between 1/2mbps and 3mbps. So Im not getting half of what I pay for when I need it. I hope this helps and if you find another option please let me know!
