I am a *NEW* non-established customer and I am already dissatisfied with my MediaCom service. Due to the lack of choice for high speed internet in my area I was given few options and despite this companys less than stellar reviews I decided to give them a try. 1. I ordered a TiVo Box; it was to arrive prior to installation; it did NOT arrive by the designated time. I contacted MediaCom Customer Service directly and was assured the box had been delivered in error to the local office and would be brought out at the time of install by the technician. 2. I do NOT receive cell service in my home and provided Special Instructions to the technician to KNOCK upon arrival. These instructions were ignored and a phone call was placed to me; which I did not receive; and the technician made a decision to skip installation at my home unbeknownst to me. When I called MediaCom to inquire about the status of the technicians arrival I was told since I was did not answer their call (Special Instructions were to KNOCK upon arrival as I do not have cell reception in my residence) I should expect a technician SAME DAY but outside of the pre-arranged install window and to call at approximately 4:15 PM if they had not yet arrived. In the interim I received an email confirming SAME DAY installation sometime before 8 PM. Of course; 4:15 PM comes and goes.... No technician. I called MediaCom Customer Service AGAIN and was told installation was not to happen same day; it would be a week out and they do NOT have a TiVo Box for me. What the hell?!

For the last 2 months I have complained about my internet speed to Mediacom. Have had 2 techs here and both tell me that its normal for my 3 yr old computer to get lower speeds than what I am suppose to get. I asked what I should get, he tells me 75 mbps. I am suppose to have 150 mbps and I can do 3 speed test on the wifi connection on my laptop and be lucky to get 40 mbps. Most of the time its less than 20 mbps. On our Xbox One that is hooked up wired gets up to 70 or 80 mbps on a good minute most of the time its 30 to 40 mbps. Both of these as low as 2 mbps. I am also told that it is normal for the internet to vary that much, from 2mbps to 80 mbps in a series of 3 test right in a row? Every time the techs are here they tell me it is fine on their devices yet I do a test at the very same time or right after and its way lower. Plus they never show me the numbers they are getting or that they are actually on my internet. If I could get as fast internet elsewhere I would. Very unsatisfied customer!!!!!!

I went online and signed up for intenet access and family cable. the day it was suposed to be installed I had a missed call from a restricted number, and I did not hear anything from mediacom. I called the next day and the lady I talked to told me that they call before they come to your house so I mentioned the one missed call I had and she said that was probaly them and she said that they called more than once, I told her I only had one missed call from a restricted number and she called me a liar. she was very rude and not at all someone I would want to deal with.. I will take my Buisness elsewere..Thanks Ottumwa mediacom.

so, I ran a test on my internet speed and found out I have a download speed of 1.6 mbps WOW! That is like not even having internet....I have had 2 new modems this year . I am wondering if there is a law against this ? I pay for business internet and have for some time and since I can prove the speed Im receiving is by far NOT what they are contracted to give me and Im paying more for the business what do I do? I just want to get what I pay $128.00 a month for..........

Mediacom sucks rotten ass only had them for a month and still cant watch TV or use Internet first time tech was supposed to come out we rearranged our schedule to accommodate the they were a no call no show the second time they came on time and it was fixed until the next day now Im sitting here waiting again its 10 min till 12 and they said in the morning before noon if they werent the only cable company out here Id leave them in a heart beat

Today is August 23rd, 2015. To date, I have had FOUR technicians to my home since June. I pay for 50mbps download speeds. The only time I ever see anything CLOSE to those speeds is that very day that a tech comes to "fix" my slow speeds and if Im lucky the day after. The average speed I am seeing is between 10 and 11mbps. Mediacom is a very poor, unreliable company.

Ive called 5 times over the past month about my internet. I get 3% of the speed Im supposed to get. The last guy basically told me there is nothing they can do about it. Yet I still pay $87 a month for "fast" internet that works maybe half the time. You got to love small towns...
