I rented 2 large units from around August 2015 to the end of January, 2016. My monthly bill was almost $650, significant to me. My experience upon move-out was absolutely horrid. I had filled 2 10x20 units to almost full capacity during this time and was ready to move-out on Friday, January 29th. My father went to the facility at 6a.m. and began moving things out into one of the loading bays as we were expecting a truck to arrive at 8 a.m. and wanted to be ready. The truck did not actually arrive until 10:30 a.m. In the meantime, we had lots of furniture and other items waiting to be loaded. There were 2 other bays completely free. My complaint concerns the manager of the facility, whose name I didnt catch - shes blonde, possibly in her 40s/50s and wears glasses. Theres also an African-American man who works there who is the completely opposite and an absolute pleasure to deal with. Around 9 a.m., she came out to my father to berate him for blocking the loading bay. When my father pointed out we were waiting on a truck and there was noone else there and we would move immediately if it became an issue, she simply stated she didnt care but we could not block the bay. During our time there, 2 people came. One who we actually moved his things for, since he needed help, and was extremely grateful. The other men we also helped who used the elevator to access a downstairs unit. Both were very friendly and chatted to us for a while. Around 10:30 a.m., I was leaving to pick up something and when I approached the gate to exit, I noticed a woman waving her hands very excitedly at me so I got out of my vehicle and went back. At which point, I met this woman! As I approached, I asked was something wrong and she started screaming at me "Where did I think I was going?" "You cant leave this stuff here!" "What the hell do you think youre doing?" etc. etc. I had never met this woman before but presumed she was the woman who had yelled at my father earlier in the morning. At no time did she ask who I was or introduce herself. She had no idea who I was but saw the writing with my last name on the side of the vehicle. I explained to her that my father and another friend were still there and I would be back in a few minutes. She kept screaming at me, at which point, I began to get angry. I can honestly say, even as an attorney, that I have never met a ruder, more ignorant person in my life and that is really saying something. I can also say I have NEVER lost my temper with anyone. I listened to her scream at me for a minute and waited to speak. When I tried explaining what was going on and that not one person was inconvenienced by what we had blocked, she spoke over me and refused to discuss it in any way. I soon realised that her sole purpose was to shout at me because I was doing something she wasnt happy with and that she had zero interest in listening to anything I had to say. I have never experienced such an angry, hostile person. She had no idea how to approach me to settle her concerns or discuss it in any way or even to try to convince me why this was such a disaster in her eyes. The reality is that only 2 people came and went up to this point, we were blocking one bay (there are 3 bays), there was still access to all of the units and, if anything, we were helping the customers that were there. She, however, continued to yell at me. I raised my voice to the same level as hers and we simply yelled at each other. I eventually walked away. The stress on my 70 year old father in those couple of hours due to her pressure was immense. I walked away shaking with anger and frustration. We began loading our truck which essentially took us the entire day as the truck needed to be carefully packed so there was no movement and damage caused to our belongings. She kept berating us every once in a while but we chose to ignore her from that point on as the stress she was causing was incredible. I can honestly say this is the worst experience I have ever had with a stranger or any business.

The facility itself is clean and well kept, but the elevators are small. The reason that this place gets low reviews is that they are deliberately difficult to deal with. Long story short is that if your card does not go through, they call non stop and still charge you a late fee. Once they get a good card number from you, they will not save it in the system. You need to go down to the office (no telling when the office is actually staffed) and give them a new card. I would have pulled my stuff out of there a while ago, especially when they keep raising rates, but it is too much effort to do that, which is of course the whole business model.

The black and GREEN Life Storage facility / across from APT electronics in Glenview is a brand new facility. The manager of the store, Valorie, is helpful, knowledgeable, and conveys a sense of pride in her job. Compared to other storage units, it was nice to find that their 5 x 10 units had a WIDE 10 foot door. Past experiences with storage lockers included small entry points and narrow / deep units. You will be impressed with their facilitys layout as well as their professionalism. Go LifeStorage.

Had to quickly get my dads stuff in storage and was cramming in a bunch of storage facility visits and Life Storage of Glenview was BY FAR the BEST! I knew as soon as I entered... Its clean, new, well maintained with great service.. And the best perk is the heated loading dock!!!! All the things you worry about at other facilities (heat/mold/summer/winter/rodents etc) has all already been thought of by these great proactive folks. I will never rent anywhere else again. Thanks for being awesome!

This is an excellent storage facility. It is clean and new, and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. It is clearly secure, and in a nice part of Glenview right across the street from Abt (gives you an excuse....). Price was more than fair at 50% off the first three months, which makes it well below similar facilities.

Valerie was very personable and helpful in finding the right size and location of storage unit I needed. The indoor loading dock is great and the entire complex is clean and well lit. Compared to other storage places I have used in the past - this one is definitely a cut above and reasonably priced. I highly recommend it.

Valerie at the front desk, was very friendly, efficient, and really helpful. The facility is new, super clean and the temperature & humidity in the climate controlled storage unit is correct. They could use some more carts. We had to hunt for a cart. Overall, a nice facility with reasonable storage pricing.

Very nice clean place. Easy access from the road and to the indoor unloading areas. The day I rented my unit Robin was great. Very friendly and explained everything. He took the time to show me around the place, explained the process and was in and out in about 20 minutes.
