This is the truth about ATC if you like them or hate them your should read this. People who gave more than 1 star know nothing about fair pricing in cities with competition. Or have no understanding of technology or maybe have never researched other city prices with more than one option. Anyone who gave ATC more than a 1 star review is an idiot. Period. .ATC is ripping everyone off. Id give them a zero star if I could. Anyone that gave them anything more than a 1 star should try calling some other cities like Frederick MD or do searches for bundle prices their compared to ours. Or research prices in other city zip-codes that halve more than one option You can to Frederick, MD. 22 miles west of us and not much bigger than our town and you have access to Comcast,Xfinity and Fios and they all have similiar deals for a 2 year deal for customers with no internet cap and 25mprs down and 25mps up speeds and tv and phone included for something like $75 These guys rip people off for millions every year. I pay $164 for around 200 channels(half of them are duplicitous standard non hd channels) with one dual dvr and only one small package package variety plus and 30mps down and 5mps up with a 400gb monthly cap. any overages is $10 more per 50 gb. I had Direct tv which is known to be expensive and had their middle teir plan and had twice the channels and all in hd with wireless wifi and manymore on demand channels and channels that were only on ON Demand like The Anime network and had Antietam Cable internet and was paying $50 less than I pay for much less and a crappy dvr. Sadly where I live now now No dishes are allowed so Im stuck with ATC. Now they are complaining and sending us emails about their affordable prices and telling people that they are trying to save money by fighting AMC on commercial sot save us money because AMC wants a cost increase. What a joke. With the multi millions of dollars ATC has extorted from their customers because ATC has a monopoly and charge whatever they want because of of no competition they could buy AMC If they didnt have an internet cap Id use internet tv options instead. I know people that were doing that with Amazon, Hulu , and Netflix and then suddenly we get a cap on our internet. Common sense says they did it to limit severely people from using internet tv options Their is no such thing as fair pricing in small towns you get ripped off. they should be a federal law against it but everyone Ive talked to in any small town with only one cable provider charges double or more than big cities. And absolutely do not fall for their lies about needing to rent modems from them. Buy your own modem. they give you some BS about not supporting the modems if you dont rent the modems from them and they even charge you full price for them them $10 a month but you dont own them and have to return them so they can extort someone else. Ive been buying my own modems since they started cables service. Never had issues with speed or functionality.

I have just recently added Antietam cable and internet services due to the apartment complex Im in not allowing any other options (other companies, satellite). It has already been a terrible experience with customer service and setting up service. First, they "switch" promotions without informing you. I had gone in to get a quote with a representative, was displeased with the pricing so I told them I would have to think about it. They are expensive, and "bundles" really dont save you any money unless you hit their "promotions." I went back in 4 days later (Thursday then Monday) but was told that promotion had only last 1 week and I now had to pay even more. Next, when finally moving forward I had discussed a quote in person with a representative in their office face to face for the options I had discussed and received a "bundled" quote. Then, when installation occurred I find out they just had me down for a digital receiver and not the HD digital DVR that I EXPLICITLY had discussed with the representative. So I had to go back in and get this switched, which changed my pricing but they did give me 2 months free (equals a whole $30). Then, over the weekend I attempted to watch NFL Network because I had again told them to include the Sports Plus package. I called today only to find out it wasnt included in my services. Again, the pricing that they told me was a bait and switch. It is like the customer service is still stuck in the 80s - obscure, unhelpful, and very much a bait-and-switch. I should have required a customized quote in writing before ever signing on. Unfortunately, with my apartment complex and football season coming I dont have any options. Oh - and finally - their HD channels are OK but nowhere near the clarity I have been used to at my other residences with DirecTV. I guess that company spoiled me with their customer service and quality. Who knew I needed to ask an apartment complex what cable & internet options they had prior to signing a lease! One positive in service for Antietam Cable, however, is that my internet service has been extremely good. Fast, reliable, and the wifi seems to not slow down the connection much at all! Also, the technician who did the installation was very friendly and informative. He could teach the representatives in the office a thing or two.

I hate complaining, and try to make the best of the situation. I try to rate and review as best as possible, and objectively as possible. But finally called quits with Antietam cable, 2x...and we are relatively new to the area. mortgage on few acres in the area...which is alright. It is suppose to be quiet and in-the-hills and countryside/rural out of the ways of hussle n bussle of DC metro. I/we live here now, this is home for now. I dont expect perfection all the time, I know things happen from time to time. But this is hard to take...and I grew up out-of-the-way and in-the-countryside hills. The reliability and stability/consistency is out the window and too dang complicated it appears...full of noise and latencies. But The company is the only internet service provider, not just the area or areas, but possibly the WHOLE county!!! Customer service is actually alright/good. But the product and service theyre pushing it is failure. Only internet service provider player in town!!! How is this possible 2017 u ask? But possibly true...only internet service provider in county!!! (But I think I know why. But Antietam cables can be better out here... We like it out in the countryside or perhaps deeper into the hills) Pretty good at first month. Soon just one month after, goes down hill!! But its never their problems, or their cause!! Its a personal problem and a steep charge!!! (I have mentioned full of noise and latencies) Cmon comast, cmon ATT and Verizon. (And I have dealt with yall before) Then, perhaps is reason we live out-and-away. Never the less, I believe the shop can be better, though.

Where to begin? It is incredibly unfortunate that those living in Washington County have to suffer with 3rd world cable. I am anxiously waiting for Comcast to work its way into Washington County. Knowing that when they do finally come along that Antietam will lose many customers. Mind you, I am on their *best* available plan shelling out $200 a month. I have no issue paying $200 a month for *excellent* cable. I had XFinity, which was not only *BETTER* but also much, much cheaper. The office is open only m-f 8-5? Really? Sure, the support team is there; however, XFinity was open 24/7 for its customers. That is *true* customer service. The other issue, too, is their DVR is a joke. It is no where near as good as Xfinitys services. That said, you will need internet to survive. However, you do not need their lousy T.V. Unless that is you need their local T.V. as a means of a sleep aid. Seriously, watch their news panel. They are no Anderson Cooper, and its almost as if it were scripted, but tragically executed. A show they do need is "Dump the Frump" a show dedicated to helping moms get back on track empowering woman. That would be a show worth watching. All of course using local salons, and shops. Lastly, here is how to survive the tragic cable. DO NOT BUY IT haha! Instead, spend $39.99 on an Amazon Fire Stick where you can access - Hulu, NetFlix, Showtime, & much more! Not only is the HD quality better, but you will save yourself from the depression deriving from the crappy network.
