Its been over a year now since my debacle with this place. My cousin referred me to them, because of their excellent pricing, (in other words, all i could afford), i gave them a shot on my 98 Tahoe, also had them "fix" a front wheel hub assembly, my window (which come back.off track in under two.weeks) and a few other things along with my 4l80e transmission rebuild and install. Within 3 months i called down to have my transmission looked at again, since it was under warranty, they took it and "fixed" it. About a month later, same thing happened, no overdrive. Brought it back again and this time they took their time, almost 7 weeks, until i called and had to get a lil snippy with the owner. He got it back in that weekend, FINALLY after $1600 in total costs and repairs it was ready, i jump in to drive it home, excited because i love my Tahoe, left jordan, get to the exit for my house in coon rapids, and surprise surprise, same issue again. I was furious, i called and screamed at the owner, i gave him the option, half my invested money back, $800, Or, Id see him in court. He agreed to give me half my money back, said he would call me the next day to have me come down, and of course, i havent heard from them since. They advertise they aint a fly by night operation doin repairs out the garage behind their house, thats too bad, because them fly by nighters? Theyd get it right with three chances at it. I wouldnt let this place work on a Tricycle. My bosses truck was done as well down there around the same time as mine, long story short, he traded his in as soon as he could. I feel sick even giving this place one star. I eventually bought a rebuilt tranamission from a different garage, and put it in myself. I only had these guys do it because i didnt have the time to do it myself. So, before i brought the old one into the scrap yard, i took a look, i guess when u rebuild a transmission, u just reuse the old gears?

horrible service. at first I thought they could be trusted. brought my 2004 truck out to this shop to replace the transmission. after paying 1300 bucks I have had to bring my truck back to them 4 times now because the transmission wasnt fixed or not fixed right. every time they say they dont see anything wrong with it but it doesnt accelerate. this will be my last trip before I file court papers against them. so far I have wasted 1800 total 500 in towing fees to have my car brought back out to the shop to get it repaired.. the guy is rude and will say anything to get you off the phone. my transmission is under warranty but I feel like they are just holding my car and not even looking at it at this point. a friend referred me to this shop. at first the guy was really nice but I guess that was only to get paid and after that he could care less. this shop is in Jorden Minnesota which is about a hour away from where I live in Minneapolis when trying to explain to the guy that runs the garage that I dont feel safe driving while pregnant with three other children in the car and he said he could care less. all in all I wouldnt waste my time. if you need a good transmission shop try ammco trans mission or wagomen bros or Kennedy transmission. funny I brought my car to another shop and they told me my transmission rebuilt needed to replaced . my husband did in fact go to court and won his case. now Im working on taking pack rat garage to court for ripping me off!!

Packrat Garage is excellent. Friendly trustworthy guys with a lot of knowledge. I stopped in based on a referral that they were the best in Jordan and I was met by a pleasant guy who turned out to be the owner. I explained that I had bought the the vehicle for my daughter on a good deal used but it was running rough and I needed to know what it needed to be safe. He drove it and did a thorough look over and gave very clear explanations about what needed to be fixed and what was wearing and/or could wait. Rates were extremely fair and he and his shop mechanic had the car ready to run same day. He even gave me a lift over to the local restaurant to wait. I have since taken multiple vehicles to him for repair and always had excellent experience with fair and accurate assessment, fair pricing and good service.

Hard to describe how bad of an experience I have had. I took a transmission into Packrat to have it rebuilt. They called and said it was done I went To pick it up to my surprise it had been painted with silver paint over the dirt I could plainly see the electronics hadnt been replaced. I asked why the bill was more than they quoted me. Then asked if I could talk to the owner. The response was just pay the bill were not gonna do anything about it anyway. I got it home and found that it would not shift and hadnt been rebuilt. I then took it to a reputable transmission shop. They tore it down and confirmed it hadnt been rebuilt. I cancel my credit card payment. Then I started getting harassing phone calls and threats from the owner of the shop. Now out over $1000.00

These guys are all stand up guys! Stand behind there word 100%. Had a transmission rebuilt. I installed it and a day later it was leaking. Called Donny. And he found out, it was a bad torque converter and fixed EVERYTHING until it was right! Really saved me from doing it 3x! Those guys know what there doing! Ill be going back when my wifes transmission goes out in her Yukon.

Very bad service, I drove 12 hours to pick up some car parts on my family vacation and they were not there when I showed up, said I was 10 minutes late. Text them a few times and told them what time I would be there and Donnie said no problem. Tough to trust his word or business ethics. Scott

we were vacationing in the area when our transmission went bad and we were reffered to don to check it out, they were very professional and had us back on the road in 2 days, i was very pleased with the price and done in a timely fashion, i would recommend them A+ in my book. Thank you.

WARNING Soo bad I pay 700 hundred for a new transmission and they blow the engine and computer and not be responsible for they work and the transmission still leaking oil ...becareful
