I took my car to Purrfect Auto to get a diagnosis of my engine to check the compression because it lost power and has rough idle. I tried changing the spark plugs, but could not remove because they were too tight. They told me in order to complete the diagnosis, they would need to remove the valve cover and would cost another $150. I said to do it. They came back to me and said the engine is shot and needs a new one for $4,500 or a used one for $2,200. I told them I was going to pick the car up and I hung up. They called back saying they could get it running for another $300 and I told them to go ahead. The car is running okay now, but I now hear knocking in my engine and Im still concerned there may be damage and did not make me aware. Here is a list of the things they did. Look at what they charged me for reconditioning the old spark plugs which they replaced. Also, I dont know why they charged me for things I told them were already done at another shop. (Fuel injection service, engine chem flush, oil change.) Also, when I left the shop and got on the freeway, I heard somthing under the car, "Thug, thug, thug". I looked in my rearview mirror and saw something black rolling away. I pulled over and opened the hood and oil was all over the place and there was no oil cap. I walked back searching on the side of the freeway and found my oil cap and put it back on. I called to inform them and they acted like I was crazy and could never happen. They insist these charges are legitimate and refuse to tell what was really done to the car. Labor: -Engine performance diagnosis 49.95 -Additional time for diagnostic 1.5 hrs 140.00 -Remove valve cover to diagnose 55.00 (They did credit this) -Fuel injection cleaning / service 50.00 -Recondition siezed spark plugs 175.00 (If they replaced my spark plugs, why did they recondition the old ones?) -Set timing / idle / fuel mixture 45.00 -Replace oil & filter 15.00 Parts: -EFI service kit 54.00 -Engine flush chem 29.00 -NGK spark plugs 31.80 -Oil Filter 5.66 -Synthetic oil 37.50 -Hazardous Waste fee 3.00

No wonder every body give them 1 star, it should be zero star. I went to them for smog test cause they charge $ 9.99 but the trick is there, they see you and always find some thing to take your cash. ---- The new manager ( a black guy ) tried to intimidate me or make me feel bad, asking me why I did not went to the Dealer for the smog test and why I went to the dealer for 30 K miles services ? I said : Dealer is more expensive the smog test but the Dealer has every thing OEM for my 30K services. If they advertisement smog test at $ 9.99, is their problem, it doesnt mean customer has necessary to do any job there. I hope they see my review cause I decided not to go any more, ever to that location. I saw that like threating or harassment to customers . I saw one of their mechanic working on a Toyota Rav4, doing rear brakes and he left both Caliper hanging on brake hoses, that show irresponsibility, careless of our cars, cause all good mechanic recommend it be holding the caliper by a wire or metal, so the brake hose doesnt damage. When I asked about it, two of them told me is ok, it doesnt damage the brake hoses, they has done like that for years and never had a problem. My review could extend more, but I think I gave the point of that place ----- For experience and see it by myself on my car : They tell you will do a 30 K miles services for $ 139.99 or 169.99 and this is what they do : --- half of old transmission oil out. --- half of old engine oil out --- Add more antifreeze but not drain, so that is cooling flush --- Add a little brake oil, so that is brake flush services. --- Fuel injection clean services, please come on, a liquid in your gas tank. --- Balance and rotation, when ? the machine is broken. --- Services your brakes ? remove the tires and put them back, thats all. --- If your car has plastic covers under car, be careful, you could find out later is gone. ---- Etc,etc, etc, Thats why I start putting my hands on my cars, cause why I saw and experience. Good Luck

I was suckered in by the $9.99 coupon, but was told on my arrival that there is a disposal fee of $3 and because I own a Volvo there is a $10 charge for a canister filter. $23 is not the original $9.99 deal, but I was there anyway. 15 Minutes into the process the mechanic comes out with the expected upsell. I need all of my fluids changed for a $169.99 service charge. This is ludicrous so I politely refused. He then advises me that I have an oil leak and he wants $49.99 to inject die and I can come back in a couple of days so they can pinpoint the leak. I dont have an oil leak and there has never been any spotting on my driveway, so I politely refused. The mechanic was not happy about this. An hour later the job was finished and I returned home. The next morning my neighbor called to tell me that there was oil all over my driveway and was running down into the street. This was deliberate and vindictive. I have contacted the Review Journal, the newspaper that the coupon came in, to register a complaint. Avoid this place like the plague!!! I am now making an appointment at Auto Tech to see how muck it is going to cost to make repairs for my bargain oil change. If you are reading this you have been warned. I wish that I had taken the time to research these criminals.

Would rate it zero stars if I could. My cousin went here and got a free oil change just to go online and put up a five star rating online. All the five star ratings are not legit. People only got "benefits" to rate them so high. This place will cheat you for whatever they can. When I went to get an oil change, they thought they could take advantage of me being a young teenage girl with a car - but little did they know - I know a lot. Told me I needed new transmission and steering fluid when I literally had them both done 3,000 miles ago at 115,000 miles on my car. Tried to convince me to have them changed there while getting my oil changed, and lied to me about my trans and steering fluid "looking like they havent been changed for over 30,000 miles, and theyre black in color". They sure did shut up and look like they were caught red handed when I told them I just had serviced my car for a lot of stuff including that at the dealership. I took my car down to the dealership after my oil change to make sure they hadnt purposely damaged my car to make a few bucks off me. I was one of the lucky people - seeing as the dealership told me of the many messed up cars they have recieved after going to a purrfect auto - NEVER AGAIN.

One word....SHADY. I went in for a free oil change and next day my engine is rattling off, but no engine light. I took my car back in the next day and Im told that I need to replace my engine, they quoted me approx. $3,500. I told them that I was going to get a second opinion because I never had this problem before nor had I received some type of alert on my vehicle indicating possible engine problems. Im glad I trusted my instincts, turns out I just need my ADP and Serpentine belt replaced. And they were going to try to replace my whole engine, probably so they could resell it, thats how shady they are. Never Again. Anyone that tries to take advantage of a young working female professional, dont assume that she has the money to have car parts replaced just because. I work hard just like you...I pay my way through school while maintaining a modest household income. What the Manager Charles and his brother, the "Quality Control Specialist", Jesse are doing is called Fraud--you dont even deserve the one star thats on here.
