I planned my move very early on, over a month in advance. I was moving out of a 1700 sq feet, 3 bdr 2 bth house to a 2600 4 bdr 3 bth a mile away. (literally 0.7 mile away) I shopped around and got quotes from different companies, A-1 movers seemed to be the smartest choice, with a $175/hour I liked the idea of moving in 5-6 hours and hopefully saving $400-500 from the other quotes I have gotten. Fast forwarding to the moving day, I am giving you bullet points to avoid boring you to death: - Day before moving, A-1 Movers got in touch with me to get my payment information - Day of moving, A-1 movers called me (yes, that same morning) to let me know one of the driver called in, no replacement planned, I was going to have to deal with 1 truck and 2 movers (maybe 3) and offered me a whopping $50 discount on my bill. - The movers that actually did show for work arrived at 10am instead of 9am - The move was slower than anticipated (Ill spare you the details) - A lady from A-1 movers came by the house, didnt even speak to me (or my wife) to check on the move nor apologize for the missing Driver and Truck. - Fast forward 10 hours (we had to do a second load because we only had ONE truck), the move is done, lots of boxes are placed in the wrong rooms - Total bill is almost $1,400 On the plus side even thought they were a bit slow, the MOVERS WERE VERY NICE. But for this kind of money I could have gotten the move done in 5 hours with 2 trucks /4 movers ( 9 to 2 pm) and have the rest of the day to organize the new house, instead, it was almost night time when we were done (8PM) So to sum it up, A-1 movers seem HIGHLY unorganized on the Office side, they have no BACK UP if their Driver decide to call In sick, so make sure you ask what do they have planned if someone calls in. I will not use again nor recommend A-1 movers moving company, they dont seem to care about their customer and did very little to cover their mistakes.

A-1 moved me from NC to FL and they did a fabulous job! I was extremely impressed that they showed up in both locations exactly when they said they would, especially considering they had to transport everything across several states. They took everything apart, loaded up the truck and unloaded the whole thing when they got here. They didnt loose or break a single item. All in all it was a great experience!
