Id put this up there with Comcast on a list of most unethical service providers. They are the only option that is available to some people in this area; with that being said, their prices are insanely high for a sub-par product that rarely works as it is advertised. Its very unfortunate for people who cannot get anything else other than MCTV. The internet speeds are abhorrent. The packages on their website range from 10-20mbps, but the unfortunate truth is that youll never receive it. I have consistently received only 1mbps and have yet to get anything higher than a 2. Again, they can get away with it because theyre the only thing available in my area. Also, if youre wondering about the positive reviews for MCTV, theres a good explanation. Many of the people rating this company five stars do not require a working internet connection. They just have basic cable, which doesnt show the flaws in the companys service as much as a horrible internet connection does. So, if youre asking yourself today, "Should I get MCTV?" If you are part of the lucky few in Canton, Massillon or Wooster that have other options available to them. Do not even consider this company for a moment. Do not look at their prices, do not look at their services - just leave. They are running a monopoly here and will consistently punish you if youre paying for their god awful service because they know youll come crawling back. In a time where internet is very prevalent - and almost necessary - MCTV does the bare minimum of what a service provider should do. Its honestly disturbing how theyre getting away with this type of stuff. As another user said, "Nothing that MCTV provides could be considered industry standard by any means." - they couldnt be more right. Stay away from this god damn service.

Just why? You have so many bad reviews! That should tell you something. There is something wrong. My mom and i are paying for 20mps high volacity internet. 1. That isnt high. We are in 2015 going into 2016 i see around the country 100mps -200mps. 2. We all know you throttle i know i reach my "50"gb data limit very quickly because i have 3 xbox ones, and hulu/ netflix going all on. 3. Im upgradeing to cat 6a ethernet cable and buying a $300 tri band router. Which i will neveer be able to use the potential of because you havnt updated your wires in idk how many years. 4. Dont bs around saying you have higher speeds then blank from ratings. Seriously? 20mps is high?!? No, no its not. And i had time warner at my other place and it actually gave me more then 3mps on my xbox one. 5. When can you upgrade your equipment? Put some fiber optic cable in ohio. I only need better internet service! And you guys have a monopoly where i cant get anyone else. No you wont find a account name on here since its not my parents account and i have had it with your service i litterally want to move. You may be faster then attnt uverse but no way are you fastwr and reliable then time warner. I just wish i could get it where i live. If you guys dont put cat 7 wires in when the are mass produced i cant pay for this service anymore Also those 5 star-4 star reviews are from people that dont game becauze your perfectly fine on youtube or computers but when it comes to xbox, ps4, wii u i even open ports to xbox live and that barley helped. Please please upgrade your speeds and if i pay for 20mps dont give me 17 on speedtest and 3 on video games.

Picture Quality - (and even sound) is horrific. The images freeze, pixellate, drop out entirely. The sound skips or drops out, ever since they used the excuse of the OTA (over the air) broadcasters going to digital transmission to force ALL MCTV subscribers to switch to digital cable. (aside - Digital signals allow you to CRAM 6x more information down the pipes in the same bandwidth that an Analog signal takes to reach your home. Sure it saves the cable company money, allows them to offer more/faster internet, and more channel options on existing lines/equipment, but the quality suffers and they dont give a crap) The lines into and throughout my home are newer, AND they have been down in my neighborhood repairing and re-running the lines at the pole. It may have gotten slightly better, but ALL THESE ISSUES REMAIN. Customer Service- is alright, I havent run into many issues changing packages or paying bills, even if a couple days past the first of the month. Monopoly. Massillon Cable TV is the ONLY choice you have in the Massillon and surrounding areas. They charge what they want and you have NO alternative to them. Satellite TV is a joke, more introductory offer pricing and hide the channels you want in expensive packages as well as Satellite TV not offering affordable internet service. Internet - Good luck achieving the speeds they quote in the up to for their service tiers. And if you want Internet only, with no cable TV? That will be $10/month extra, every month forever (they call it a line access charge). Just Google "Consumerist Wilson NC"

The only good thing about this company is the quick customer service, which you will no doubt need on a bi-weekly basis. The positive reviews you are reading are from people who just use the Internet for email, and light browsing more then likely. I have had my gateway replaced, lines replaced, bought a new router (upgraded to nighthawk) and have talked to multiple customer service reps and techs. I have literally tried everything with this company and it seems they just refuse to upgrade their equipment enough and stop trying to maintain their stranglehold on the cable and Internet for the Massillon area. My family pays for the highest service package possible and it is still spotty at best. I get disconnected from games at least 1-2 times per night and my speeds drop drastically ( down to 1mbs) for sometimes up to an hour regularly. Same story over and over just like it will be if they reply to this "we are very sorry please call customer service to find a solution". Whatever customer service rep reads this review, I am truly sorry you have to work for a company with such a poor product and have to act like this type of review isnt standard for them. I honestly dont expect MCTV to compete with Verizon or comcast speeds but just a stable 20mbs download speed where I didnt have to contact technicians every other week to help diagnose problems with MCTVs hardware would make me satisfied, but that will most likely never happen since they are making plenty of money milking Massillon area residents who dont know how bad their service really is.

For those who rate MCTV 5 stars they dont represent the modern age of ever advancing technology, therefore their opinions do not reflect the needs of young technology driver individuals. The world is evolving and MCTV is evolving, just not fast enough. Their customer service is very good with friendly employees and when I call them they normally do a very good job. The issue is with their internet service and pricing. The speeds have been too slow for too long. Most people have 10mbps download and 0.5mbps upload which is slower than satellite often. It is unacceptable to have such a low upload speed in an age where there are many websites and apps such as Youtube and Snapchat which require fast speeds for uploading videos and pictures of good quality. There are higher options available now but the problem is that compared to other providers outside of the county theyre overpriced and no one is willing to pay for it. Even their highest package has an unacceptable upload speed of 5mbps download(upload of 100mbps). Now you may think this will be fine for you and it may be, although often at times past 11PM the speeds will slow down a lot. This has been reported by many customers just in these reviews alone. If MCTV wants to keep their customers they need to innovate before their competitors in this area, otherwise AT&T and Spectrum will take all of their customers like they have been doing for years.
