I wish I could give Mini of Portland 10/10 stars because they went above and beyond what you would expect at a dealership. That isnt something you can say about all dealerships. Most places reel you in with their excellent online ads, and commercials, filling your head with notions of buying a brand new car but then schmooze you into spending a whole hell of a lot more than you can ever imagine to afford but thankfully, Mini of Portland is nothing like that. Not even close. Everything they put online is the real deal. In fact, they can do you one better in person. You dont have to play the same old dance that you once did, haggling the prices, haggling your trade, this and that. You dont have to storm out and wait for a phone call a few days later. Mini is honest, and they want you to be honest in return and truly, it is the smoothest, most relaxed and friendly car buying experience. Mini wants to see you in their car, and they want you to become apart of their Mini family! Dave, our salesman was exceptionally knowledgeable and he was the friendliest person I have ever met. He is truly a gem. My dad explained very briefly our situation and instead of being rude or nasty like other car dealers have been, Dave was ready to do everything and anything he could to get us that specific Mini. He talked to his manager and came out with a key, and let us take it for a little spin and then the magic begun. We filled out applications, answered a hundred questions, and I was so nervous and scared I wouldnt be able to get the Mini that Dave stopped right in the middle of it all and told me straight up "If everything you have told me today is true, you are leaving with that Mini at a good price, dont worry. Just relax." He was like a dad, steering you in the right direction, letting you decide what you can afford and cant afford and not pushing deals on you that wont benefit you in the end. Buying this car was the easiest thing I have ever done. It was simple, it was fun, it was easy and it was pleasant. Everyone, not just the salesmen are so, so kind. If you are in the right place to buy a car, I truly recommend Mini of Portland. You cant go wrong with a Mini either. They are all youll ever want and more. It drives like a dream, and its so, so much fun! You wont regret it. Thank you SO much to Mini and Dave. Youve changed my life and Ill probably be buying Minis until I cant drive no longer because of this wonderful experience. That and the cars are excellent machines.

I never thought in a million years I would be rockin around town in a brand new car. Not once had I ever thought to myself that anybody would ever let me finance a vehicle, much less treat me like a member of their family during the whole process. The awesome people of MINI of Portland are all superstars, from Bryn (who talked to me on the phone and over email and told me his team would take care of me) to Ana (who is a serious candidate for sainthood and held my hand and helped me through what would have been a very difficult day) to the finance wizard DJ (who, after hearing that my insurance had dropped me during a very difficult period in my life was like "yo lets take care of him, dude needs a break, lets make some phone calls" instead of giving me the bums rush). I cannot overstate just how kind and warm and nice everybody was to me. I mean, I show up unshaven in my beat up jacket and Darkthrone shirt expecting them, being a big-time racecar dealership, to be like "oh man, this guy not so much" and they were all just so professional and good to me and, not only willing, but totally able to work around all my baggage and BS and find an affordable way for me to drive away in the nicest car Ive ever driven. The manager of the place came out to shake my hand after I signed the paperwork and I said to his face that he should give Ana a raise, and I TOTALLY MEAN IT FRIEND, I KNOW YOU GET TO READ THESE, but on top of that I want to give kudos and accolades and appreciation to the whole family of MINI of Portland because you guys are seriously the very best and youve earned a customer for life. When my lease is up I may or may not trade Maggie in (HER NAME IS MAGGIE NOW) but one way or another yall are my guys now and youre the best and Ill be loudly crowing to anyone who listens that they need to come to you when they need a vehicle. OK so I mentioned Bryn, Ana, and DJ by name here so make sure they reap the benefits of a positive online review, searchable on Google, available to the public, and that they get big fat bonuses on their paychecks. ESPECIALLY ANA. I NEVER EVEN THOUGHT I COULD BE TOOLING AROUND IN A BEAUTIFUL BRAND NEW CAR IF SHE HADNT BEEN IN MY EAR AND SHOWED ME THAT YES, I COULD AFFORD IT. THAT IS THE MOST BONKERS THING I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED IN MY ENTIRE DANG LIFE. I WAITED FOR LIKE FIVE DAYS TO POST A REVIEW BECAUSE I WANTED TO MAKE SURE I WASNT JUST DREAMING.

Edit, -3 stars: I had the car for a day and then the AC/Heating broke. Its a common issue, and we attempted to make an appointment to have it fixed at the dealership. We were told that they were all booked up and to call a week later. We call a week later and made an appointment 2 weeks AFTER that. Okay. Thats fine. We were told that the car would be fixed pretty quickly and the reason for the delay was so that someone who knew how to work on Hondas specifically would be there. We dropped the car off and were then told that not only was the tech not there, but that we would have to leave our car for the long weekend. We were assured that it should be ready on Tuesday, today. I have been unable to get a hold of anyone on the phone, and have been left hanging. Us being told one thing and another thing happening all together seems to be the running theme with the service department at Mini of Portland. I downgraded my review due to this and am really unhappy with the service Ive received. Don and Jim were great, but steer clear of having your car maintenance done here if you can. -Edit- I’ve never bought a car before and was expecting the worst. I certainly didn’t expect nice, cordial, and sometimes even funny texts from Don, or the no-pressure test drive with Jim. When we arrived at the dealer to test drive a used Honda Fit, Don (who I had texted with about the car) was busy with other customers but took the time to come say hi to us and hand us off to Jim who was so low-key and not pushy in the slightest. I was actually caught off guard by how nice and friendly and just honestly genuine the folks at this dealership are. Jim listened to my concerns, got the price down to where I needed it to be, and walked me through the entire process without judgement or pushing. He even gave us plenty of time and space when I asked if I could talk about the purchase with my girlfriend, and didn’t proceed until we were done fully discussing it. Being a first time car buyer I had a lot of questions, and he was super patient. He even offered to drive us to the nearest transit station, since we were taking the bus late in the evening.
