Heres my take on this place: the old ladies are so grumpy because they have to deal with so many mexicans and islanders. Granted, theres a language barrier. However. I am white as rice and every old lady in there, especially the one with white curly hair, is incredibly rude to me. The old one with her eyebrows painted on is slightly less rude, and the younger, bigger version of her is the least rude of the 3. Guess who is nice? The asian lady they hired to deal with all of the mexicans and islanders. Theyre not even a real post office. They charge the most they can to provide services that the USPS provides for free (like giving you a receipt for delivery confirmation) and those old gals make it look like 1989 in there. No technology, nothing. Theres handwritten signs everywhere, like, hey stand here and read all this stuff, and were gonna treat you like an idiot if you dont read them all. Maybe its time to close up shop and knit, or continue dying. They do provide free USPS Priority Mail boxes to mail (that really should be next door) and ol white hairs yelled at me one day for grabbing 2 of them. I held them up and showed her they were the free ones, Im not trying to shove them down my pants like some hooligan. But if she crept up on me Id knock her the eff out. By the way, Great Grandma, nobody wants to buy your old puzzles, sweaters, 500% markup Juicy Fruit, or paintings. Jesus H. Christ. You need to make it all about mail or nothing. Or retire! The options are ENDLESS!

Its good and bad that I see that there are others that have noticed the very rude behavior by the women who work here. I had hoped it was somehow just me. You may even get double rude as sometimes the worker in the next window over will double team you with "helping out" in the "customer service". I dont understand what relationship this place has with the USPS, but if they are actually an official USPS location they should be stripped of that. Your typical USPS worker seems like a saint compared to these women. I would pretty much agree with all that Joshua another reviewer here said. They do in fact get the job done, but I regularly have all kinds of strange problems I dont have at other postal locations pretty much every time I have went there. I try to avoid this place if at all possible. Its hard to believe that they would be in business unless they have some kind of franchise or because of the fact that there arent many other places to go in the area. I wish something could be done.

Ill never go back here. I made the mistake of leaving my wallet on the counter. I was holding my infant son, so I had set it down to sign my credit Slip. I realized 2 hours later when I reached Longview Washington. I called to see If I could meet with one of the employees to get It back as I was not going to be back in Salem by the time they closed. It was a Friday and I was leaving for vacation the very next day. They refused to work with me to return it. The lady just kept saying for me to come in Monday....even though I told her 3 times I would be in California by Monday. These ladies are super rude. It hasnt changed in the last 4 years. Ill add the was the week before Christmas. I ended up having to ask my friends if they knew anyone who could pick it up (they were all working). I got lucky that 1 person was able to grab it on her lunch break. They almost ruined my holiday and I was less than pleasant to be around at the baby shower I was attending. Never again! Grrrr

I would give it 0 stars if I could. The customer service is absolutely terrible, the women in there are always eating, have their mouths full while talking to you, dont acknowledge you when you walk in or are asking them a question, constantly roll their eyes or act as though doing their job is the biggest inconvenience, repeatedly tell you how much something costs, will try to ring you up more than once, and just generally have bad attitudes, plus there is a $2 charge for every card transaction (which I accept) however they have a max of $80 so if your transaction is over that then you pay an additional $2 for every $80. THEN they cant just take out the actual amount of money they have to round up to the nearest $10 and will give you whatever the difference is in cash. Why? Why? Why? The only thing convenient about this place was the location but I would rather drive to another state than go back to this excuse of a business.

I had to write a review just to EXPRESS that this isnt the place to go to drop off packages. What they say is true, the ladies here are cryptic and incredibly rude. Ive gone to this place twice because I figured they were having a bad day the first time around and NOPE its them!!! BEWARE!!! They treat you like youre stupid. I have to send a package off and will be taking it across town to the Commercial USPS that I had a pleasant experience with. And as someone said below they try to charge for tape. The lady said something like $6 to buy the entire roll so I can use 4 strands of tape to tape my label. Funny thing is, theres a Safeway in the same parking lot that Im sure has the same product for half the amount. No really, Im not wasting my time with some hag and paying for their incredibly "professional" and "unbreakable" tape when Safeway has it within walking distance.

The old lady who works here was horribly rude and grumpy to me for no reason at all! I needed to send a package and I admitted to her from the beginning that I had never sent a package before so I was sorry but I wasnt sure how anything worked and I was very nicely asking her simple questions and she was acting like I was stupid and I was such an inconvenience to her. This woman should definitely not have a job working with the public because she obviously cant stand talking to people because I didnt even need anything complicated it was just very simple help I needed from her it didnt take long and there was no one waiting in line behind me or anything. I hope I never have to have any kind of interaction with this woman ever again in my whole life because she was that unpleasant and I think there is a frown permanently stuck on her face.

I went it to send a hobbies card that was purchased off me through ebay a couple months back. My first time sending mail and so I had a few questions. First off, Id like to say dont do business with these people. The only reason why Im writing this review now is for the fear that my card was not going to be sent in the event they read this review. They speak in such a condescending manner its disgusting. Theyre the typical stereotypical old hags that look down upon the youth and show no respect unless they speak to a man of their "time". They looked at me and my fiancée if we were stupid. Once again, go to a different post office because this one is gar gar.
