This has been the worst customer experience I have ever had. I ordered an online package and scheduled installation. The installer showed up and said that his work order did not show what my confirmation email said I was supposed to get. I called customer service and got some gum smackin ghetto chick on the phone who said she did not have access to online plans but she would send a message to the installer. I then noticed after the install some other services I was supposed to receive were missing, so I called and complained again. Later the installer came back and told my fiance our bill was going to $189/mnth, but they "hooked" us up with a deal. The plan I was supposed to get was $89 a month. I looked on my online account, but it does not show you what you have it only shows you if its upgradeable or not. I figured out that I was definitely in the wrong package. After 4 days and about 8 hours waiting on hold, being transferred over and over, I finally got someone to change my plan to a lower plan, but I lost my package I signed up for online because apparently no one has access to those plans. So, I think everything is great, the installer comes out again and makes it right, then I notice the channels Im getting are not HD even thought it says Im supposed to get 22 HD channels. I havent even called to complain. They arent worth it. Im canceling my cable at the end of the month and just keeping the internet. Time Warner is the worst cable company I have ever dealth with. I seriously hope they go out of business.

I wish I could give a 0 star rating! Ok, where to start? I have had problems with my internet since day 1 with intermittent connections, slow speeds, etc. I have had a technician come out to my house about 6 times (I lost count) regarding the same / similar issues. 50% of the time the tech tells me its the F**ing power supply! I mean, common! Being an Engineer, I know exactly how power supplies work. Sure you can fry some circuits with an extreme voltage, but its a DC power supply no more than 14V... if its powered on, the the power supply is fine. One guy told me the amplifiers in my area were too high... what a joke! Every time they just either swapped the power supply or the modem or both. As of now, my internet is at least working all the time (I receieved an email saying some problems where fixed in my area), but the speeds drop significantly after a few hours, so Im constantly having to reboot the modem. The company has terrible customer service, technical support, and overall respect for their customers. I have Direct TV which I love, but I am forced to use TWC for my ISP b/c they are the only ISP in my area.... which I think is the only reason this company is still alive today, and the fact that most apartments do not let you put up a dish. Stay away if you can!!

There is no reason to ever use this company! We were happy with DirectTV but TWC offered us so much in promotional savings + $150 Target giftgard it seemed foolish to turn it up. We have been with them for 4 months now (wont be any longer) and I have had to call every month to have my bill corrected. I spend a minimum of 1hr each time on hold/talking to a representative. I have spent up to 5 hrs in one day holding/trying to get our bill fixed. I called and took down names and dates and verified our promotion twice before proceeding with them and then called every step of the way to verify that they received the appropiate paperwork so that we qualified for the promotions offered. Now it is time to receive the giftcard and the first representative I talk to within 20 sec states our promotion was not eligible. Why havent the other people I have spoken to stated that when I asked? If certain promotions cannot be combined, then do not offer to combine them. Let me be clear..... I have been extremely thorough with them. There is no room to dispute some kind of misunderstanding. Do not give them the benefit of the doubt. They will say or do anything and outright lie to bring you over but do not hold good on their promises. There is no accountability!!!

So happy to see im not alone. The first call took an hour to speak to someone 3000 miles away about installing cable a few feet away in my living room. The day came and the DID NOT come. So it took ANOTHER hour to call and wait while listening to god awful hold music to speak to someone else 3000 miles away to ask WTH happened. Of course no one knows anything and were happy to help you. So it takes ANOTHER 45 minutes to place the order. The day comes and they guy comes but hes not from the cable company. Hes contracted by Time Warner to do the installation via third party which was literally cutting two wires and plugging my television into a wall, $64.99/month for a WIRE, oops TWO wires. When I asked him to explain what that was about he told me to call them back to ask for the CABLE BOX, extra 6.99/month. Maybe im slow, but I the purpose of a CABLE company was to provide CABLE service WITH a BOX, apparently not. So again 45 minutes on hold, god awful hold music, call rerouted 3000 away, and lo and behold of course no one knows anything but we can help you . . . .jesus. The fear of the hold music prevented me from cursing them livid, and here I wait AGAIN waiting for them to come and install the CABLE box. Wish me luck!

As most other customers have said - If you have ANY other options, stay far away from Time Warner. Their Internet service is slow, unreliable, and over-priced. I have been with them for 15+ years because there were no better options for Internet in my area. The Internet service would stop working several times each week and customer service people will always say it must just be a problem in my home. The prices continued to go up without warning and they want customers to call to negotiate better pricing so they can upsell while they have you on the phone. Now that I finally switched to another Internet provider, Time Warner sends me a final bill claiming that I have multiple pieces of equipment, which isnt accurate. Ive always used my own personal cable modem. Of course, none of the TWC employees are empowered to actually fix this issue. They just claim they will escalate the problem and then you dont get any response from anybody. As another reviewer mentioned - the customer service reps that face the customers are nice enough, but the management (if there is any) in this company needs to be fired.

I have had so many problems with this company over the years, it would be a short novel. I finally just turned everything off except the internet and bought my own cable modem. Now I rarely have to deal with them and when I do have a problem I can usually solve it fairly quickly on my own. Plenty of stuff to watch between Netflix, Youtube, and Hulu, not to mention the free HD local broadcast channels I pick up with an antenna. And its all cheaper than the bill that I used to pay. You know a company is bad and/or has overpriced products & services when people start putting their old antennas back up. I used to work for this company while getting my college degree so I saw things changing for the worse internally starting with the managers they hired but thats a whole nother story. I think everything went downhill around the time that they merged with AOL (i.e., AOL bought them out). Its time for a new business model in the cable industry. Maybe Google will take over the industry once enough people drop TWC.
