Took my Trans Am here for a check engine light since this place is very close to my house and i have used them before for oil changes and inspections. Now I can say with ut most certainty that they will never ever lay hands on my car again. I had already had the code read at a local Autozone and it came back as heater circuit failure on O2 sensor bank 2 sensor 1, please note this is the pre-cat drivers side sensor. I took my car in for the diagnostic since the other sensor seemed to be fine and just for the peace of mind that nothing else was wrong and to make sure the sensor was actually bad, without even hooking up the computer they called me on the phone and tried to tell me that this code was because of my exhaust system (headers into an offroad y pipe w/highflo cat and glasspack which is emissions legal) this couldnt be further from the truth. My ECU doesnt even have error codes for the rear O2s (due to the position of the cat behind the y pipe) ,so they obviously didnt even hook up the computer. By this point i just wanted to be done with these idiots and told them to replace the damaged O2s with the bosch 13111 the OEM replacement for the C5 corvette with a stronger heating element for better use with long tube headers. They then refused to do anything at all because of my rear O2s and cat set-up until i paid them to install 2 new cats and 2 new rear o2 sensors for around $600. So then after I told them there was no way in hell, they made up a service engine light for a fuel pump and sending unit for another round abouts $1000. I know they did this because i had just previously had the car custom dyno mapped and was assurred by someone who wasnt a scam artist that my fuel pump was within normal operating range. All they had to do was hook up the computer like i paid them to do and check the O2 sensor that I even mentioned to them, this was to much to ask, apparently i had sucker across my forehead when I walked in. I understand that my car isnt completely factory, but a good mechanic knows how to handle this VERY common aftermarket edition. But however for the low price of, $90 this Kwik Kar did absolutely nothing but earn the right to never touch my car ever again and this negative press online as well as in person to everyone i know or meet or even hear mention in passing they are thinking about handing money over to this horrible business.

I never take the time to write reviews, especially negative ones but...BEWARE of this Kwik Kar (Long Prairie) location. I have have good experiences over the years with Kwik Kar but this location has some very questionable customer service and ethics. I have spent $1,000s at this location and others for our family cars over the years but never paid much attention to the bills. This location on 2499 was NOT listed as AAA approved and my wifes car was towed here when it was due to go to another shop. My wife had a bad experience before and would not have agreed to take it back there. They charged a $95 diagnostic fee and then gave an estimate for a repair that was 3 times the standard rate.I will verify the details in another email after the car is fixed by a reputable business and post the bills to be sure that what I am saying about them is accurate. I am now having to pay to tow the car to reputable auto repair place and deal with the hassle.

Update: Yet again, Albert has gone out of his way to make things right with my difficult car. Time after time he has helped me out. Great work, friendly staff, fair prices. I wont take my vehicle anywhere else. I have been using Kwik Kar for about 5 years. They have always been friendly and helpful. They will look at problems with the vehicle and give an honest quote. I have had various issues with my Acura MDX that Kwik Kar fixed well (everything from oil change to brakes to engine mount). They have even given me a temporary car to use while fixing mine. Recently, a window motor went out that Kwik Kar had replaced 1 yr ago. The manager, Miguel, called the dealer on my behalf about the part lasting only 1 year. The dealer replaced the part and Miguel installed it for free. I have NEVER had problems with this location. They are wonderful to deal with after having trouble with another station that was closer to my house.

I have been doing business with this Kwik Kar since it was built and have dealt with 4 different owners since 1997 or so. The current owner (as of June 2009) also owns the Kwik Kar car wash on Flower Mound road and the old Oasis car wash in lewisville on FM3040. He is currently in bankruptcy. I do not know how this will impact service, but I did run into Eric (the LSU nut) who used to own the lube center at the car wash on Saturday 6/20 and he was potentially going to take over the car wash and lube center in Flower Mound. He may also bring back Albert, the outstanding lube center manager that the current owner ran off. If things settle out over the summer, and Albert returns, this is an outstanding business and I will gladly come back and give them 5 stars. Until then, be careful doing business with these guys... On a good note, the state inspection guy is top notch - nice, reliable, and honest. I have no idea why he is still there!

I needed an inspection. There were no parking places. There was an illegally parked vehicle in the handicapped spot. I called the police (Im an amputee. Yes its the principle!). When the officer went inside, he learned Kwik Kar parked it there. I thought THEY should be ticketed! I asked for the manager. He argued that theres nowhere else to park. I asked what if everyone used that philosophy!?! He never even apologized. Luckily I had forgotten my proof of insurance. So when I went to retrieve it, I left. AND WILL NEVER GO BACK!!

My 19 year old went in for an Oil Change and he was unable to get me on the phone and boy did they take him for a ride. Saying he needed service for 60,000 miles that had already been completed by them. I will never go back and will be spreading the news through my numerous connections through PTA, Band, and other Civic groups to make sure others do not get duped. He learned a very expensive lesson and will be passing the information along as well!

I came through a couple weeks ago as my window pane came off the track in my 2000 civic and would NOT roll up. Seeing as its now peaking at 105 degrees this summer I sought help from Kwik Kar. They said they could fix it for about the price I had received from other places. I came back the next week dropping off my car at 2. I sat in the heat until FIVE OCLOCK only to have them tell me they couldnt fix my car in time before they closed.

They changed my oil quickly. Also, inspected my vehicle for worn parts and safety issues for no additional cost. Fast service and I feel they are very honest. I once had a power steering fluid leak. I was expecting to pay around $300 for the repair. They fixed the problem for only $55. Now thats honesty. They could have easily charged me more but they were professional and honest. Very rare in these days and times.
