I took my kids, Leel 6 and Runa 3, into the salon inside the Walmart on I-35 S, near Baseline in Lancaster, TX. There was a wait, so we went and did our shopping. When we got back, the lone stylist was pricing product. I felt sorry for her working by herself with so much to do. She did not seem to be in a good mood at all, which I didnt blame her. Eventually she finished the pricing and got Leel in the chair. I told her he wanted a buzz cut (he had long hair at the time), but any short style was fine. I told her to be creative if she wanted to be. She didnt want to be. As a matter of fact, she gave Leel the buzzing of his life. Twice he yelled out in pain. The second time she acknowledged him and apologized. Still, his little head was covered in red marks and scratches by the time she was done. Only one scratch was deep enough to draw a little blood, but I didnt find it until we got home (after it had scabbed over). Needless to say I was a little upset. I mean it wasnt horrible, just unnecessarily rough. Leel could take it, but it was uncalled for to my mind. Runa was next. I told her to give her a pixie cut like Halle Berry. She did a beautiful job on her. A truly great cut. When they were done and I went to pay, I asked the new lady if there was a discount for the rough treatment Leel had gotten. The stylist who cut their hair then had a meltdown. She accused me of being out to get her from the start, racism and all sorts of other things. She was yelling and ranting so bad I couldnt tell her I thought my daughters haircut was really awesome. Then when I complained about paying full price for a shampoo, cut and style, when they only got a cut, she went off again. I paid and got the hell out. No, I will never be back. A simple apology, whether she believed she had done anything wrong or not, as well as a quick shampoo of the kids, would have been enough to get her a decent tip. Instead I was lambasted for pointing out rough treatment and overpricing.

The only reason I gave them one star is they dont offer a half! I went in to get my hair washed, every other Smart Style charges $3. She charged me $11, when I questioned the amount she said we always charge $10. So what was up with the other dollar? The manager washed my hair, never said one word to me, set me up patted the top of my head with a towel and said I was done. She didnt comb it towel it dry or anything. However, I did call corporate, which I highly recommend anyone that has been burned by this place to do, and they sent me a gift card for the $8 over charge. But mostly I recommend you not only walk away from there but that you RUN!!!!

Came in asking for a haircut was told 2 people in front of me not a problem after first two completed another lady came in had to finish her hair once that lady was finally complete then I was told all we can only accept cash. Total sitting time an hour and a half wasted
