Great shop, even under new ownership they are still great. The last owner Bill was an amazing guy who was in the business for decades at the same shop, he sold it to these new guys Ryan and Wes, two of which that hold the fort down are amazing people and are good/honest; easy to talk to and take care of any issues you need respectfully. I took my car in to get an driver side axle replaced on a 1990 Toyota Corolla GT-S for 250$ that was leaking and they replaced it; but there was still a rattling sound I noticed coming from that area after leaving the shop. So I took the car back and they checked it out visually, checked the transmission fluid (since the driver side Fwd manual transmission axle is right there) - found no issues but did check the "closed transmission" the rattling continued as the days passed; I took it in a second time and one of the guys went on a test drive with me to hear the sound I was explaining earlier; unfortunately it was really rainy and windy that day and you couldnt really hear much of anything although he did hear the faint noice and thought that it might be a small other issue then the axle... Well when the wind stopped and I could hear "the rattle coming from what I thought was the axle they replaced" louder and worse then ever I took the Corolla back a 3rd time; they put it in the air and found that there was an exsaughst issue where it was not connect right or fell out of place/ "was kind of hanging there"; long story short they fixed the issue for free, never gave me any hassle about taking the car into them 3 times, were extremely nice about everything and fixed the issue. Ryan and Wes two of the guys I have been dealing with there are great people and would reccomend this shop to anyone in the area even though they are under new management. This shop location has been around for decades and now that the owner Bill is gone they still do a pretty darn good job under new management! Five stars, and good job for taking care of business guys; without being hassled! This is probably the best mechanic shop in University Place .. definitely recommend for locals! Lied to me, ruined my exhaust system; avoid at all costs. I came in to have the axle pipe on my car replaced a couple months ago. They were fast, friendly, and cheap, and I thought they had done the repair correctly... Until my tail pipe started dragging less than a month later. I went back and they said that the weld had broke, and re-fixed it for free since it was a problem with their work. They told me that my muffler would need replacing in about a year. What they didnt tell me was that my particular car uses a clamp system, which would have only been a few bucks to replace the clamps - instead, they welded the axle pipe to both of my mufflers. Well, its about a month later and my tail pipe is dragging on the ground... Again. This time, the area they welded around on my rear muffler is sheared through, due to what looks like sloppy welding, and Im going to have to get everything south of the catalytic converter replaced. It seems an awful lot like these people either just dont care, or intentionally did a simple repair wrong so I would need to buy an entire new exhaust system from them because they "accidentally" wrecked my existing one. TL;DR: Dont get your car fixed here. Its more trouble than its worth.

Called about installing a muffler on my 1990 pickup truck. They said I could drop it off that day. I met with Ryan and asked him if he wouldnt mind advising me on anything else I should know about the vehicle while they were at it. He called the next morning and said I had symptoms of the dreaded Toyota 3vze engine "rod knock", aka the beginning of the end (that another shop had overlooked - twice), and that it would be wise to put my money toward engine rebuild/replacement before revamping the muffler system. He said it could still last for years though, so may as well just drive it til it dies. Not only did he not install a muffler I dont need right now, he gave me information on where to source used and new motors when the time comes, as well as a ballpark estimate for labor. I picked up my truck and went to pay, but he waived the diagnostic fee altogether (probably out of pity!). Excellent experience start to finish. Ive already recommended them to friends.

Best Place to get your truck or car fixed. I have been going to them for over 10 years, and I have brought 6 different vehicles to them, and I have sent multiple close friends, and now my children to them for their mechanical work. Every time their price is INCREDIBLY lower than the competition. I have never had a problem with their work, nor have they ever caused problems for my friends, on the contrary, their work is the only dependable work I have ever received. They even have a network of safe mechanics they refer to when the job can be done for less or is in another line of expertise. Affordable, Honest, Safe, Reliable, and Friendly. One of the best Mom and Pop type businesses I have ever been to.

Brought my car in for an oil change. I was really impressed with how helpful the employees were and how clean and new the place looked. (The business has new ownership and theyve done some renovating and are going to be adding on some more work bays soon.) My intent was just to get my oil changed, but the owner gave me great advice on other issues with my car. The oil change was very reasonably priced and he actually saved me $800 because of a part I actually dont need! I highly recommend this place for mufflers, brakes, oil changes and more!

These folks have ALWAYS been so honest and reasonable. You will have no worries bringing your vehicles in for repair here. Just took my Ford F150 2002 occasional work truck in here for a starting issue and they figured it out right away(fuel filter) and their charges were in the lower end of the range for estimated repair costs. This has been my experience over the years and I am so grateful for what they do. Will NEVER use anyone else! Thank you so much.

I had an excellent experience at University Place Radiator and Auto Service. As a female, I can honestly say that I have only felt comfortable taking my cars to a few places in my twenty years of driving. I recently moved to the area and I feel so lucky to have found these guys. They are really skilled and were able to find the problem, which was not diagnosed by the first shop I had brought it to. My car is running great now. Thank you so very much.

Twice I came in and Ryan checked out a small problem me and didnt try to gouge me with some bull story about how much work my vehicle needed. He was very honest and straight forward and because of that I will use his shop in the future for any work I need done. I am willing to drive all the way from DuPont to use his shop. Thank you Ryan for showing there are some honest mechanics left in this world.
