I fell for the reviews so I want to give my experience and opinion. When my check engine light came on, I went immediately to get the oil changed and fuel injection clean. The shop did not have my air filter in stock so I decided to go to Kwik Kar for a full tune up. The mechanic at Kwik Kar advised that my 2007 Ford Fusion at 114,000 miles needed a new manifold and conv assy and gave me a quote for $1,700. We looked under the hood together and I could not see ANY damage. He also could not explain very much. So, I told him to just give me an air filter with a tune up. He then explained that it would not get the check engine light to go off. When he told me it would take over 5 HOURs to get this done, I left and came back. The mechanic was gone and the teller tried to charge me over $425.00, much higher than the quoted amount. I had to bicker with her and because of a "special", I ended up paying $377.00 for an air filter, plenum gasket, and spark plugs. Over $270 for labor! Luckily, the check engine light did go off. Per, the mechanic, the simple fix was not suppose to work. I dont trust this shop and I will not be back. I believe I could have gotten a much better deal somewhere else. This is my honest opinion and review. I really wish my experience was better. My goal was to find a good shop that I could take my car to on a regular basis. I guess Ill keep looking. Thanks

Polite service but way over priced. I understand it probably has a lot to do with the area. Went here because they are close to me and I was in a time crunch. They gave me an estimate of over 1200 for an ABS motor pack replacement, driver side tail light, front turn signal bulb, including 124.40 and 32.34 to look at the brakes and to see why the brake light is always on. Also state inspection which the car did not pass. They also said the left front tire is worn which makes no sense because that is a brand new tire a got from Discount Tires maybe 1 or 2 months ago. And license plate lamps. The only thing they actually did to my car was change the passenger side front turn signal bulb which cost $1.06 for which they charged $15.00 for labor. Basically all they did was look at the car to tell me what was wrong with it. I paied $217.05 for them to change the front turn signal bulb and to look at it and tell me whats wrong with it. That is beyond ridiculous. Again, because of time I was considering coming back to finish the inspection but I wont. Found better prices in Dallas through a friend who knows a mechanic that works out there. I will not spend twice my rent on a car that is not even worth that much itself. Ridiculous.

I need my front rotors resurfaced. Every time I drive by this business, they always something funny written on their sign out front and I believe theyre a participating AAA facility. I called and asked how much it would be to have my rotors resurfaced. I was told by the lady of the phone that they dont give prices over the phone, but she would be glad to set up an appointment for me to come in to have my car looked at. This baffled me to the extent that I am writing this review, which I hardly ever do. I called the Chevy dealership and they said $124 over the phone. I called just brakes and they said $40 a rotor. This business just lost any chance at my business since they wouldnt even give me a ballpark figure over the phone. No thanks on the bait and switch. I wont be falling for it. Nor will I waste an hour of my time to wait for an estimate in person, just to try and be pressured to go ahead and perform the service while Im already there. The only other thing I can think of is that they dont know what a rotor is, and they need time to google it before I come in. The only thing clever about this business is their sign out front.

I have been dealing with Kwik Kar on Brown for many years. I know the owners and everyone that works there. Its a family owned and operated business with qualified long term employees that have been there for years. I do other work for them from time to time so I see how things work from the inside. They run a very honest and reputable business. They genuinely care about their customers and reputation. I dont understand how/why the other reviewers felt like they were scammed. No one is perfect but I have 4 cars of various makes and ages and have never felt scammed. Sometimes things are expensive and sometimes they arent. I used to work on all my cars myself. I know when Im being scammed. Ive never gotten the feeling that this shop does anything other than good honest work. Go there with confidence. They arent the cheapest place in town and they dont try to be. They just do good work for a fair price. And once you are a customer, they send out coupons and specials every month to help make the work cheaper. They are very nice and I have always felt fortunate that I have them doing my car service. Give them a try.

I had to amend this review down to one star from two. My original review complained about them charging way too much for a tune up and how one of their guys put on a whole big act (waving around torn spark plug cables in both hands) trying to be as distracting as possible so I might not realize I was being hosed. I had them do the work (since they had me stuck there anyhow) and said goodbye forever. Shortly after that, a relative needed routine work on their truck and these people quoted him twice what any other honest shop would charge. The reason Im amending this is because one of the spark plug cables they installed was routed carelessly and left resting on part of the engine, which, over time, melted the cable and wound up causing a misfire issue... while I was driving on 30... during mid-day weekend traffic... which is a very dangerous time and place for your vehicle to randomly begin having engine problems. So yeah... thanks, guys. real solid. In case your wondering, we now (my entire family and a half dozen other people) use the Midas in Euless.

My car was taken here by roadside assistance and although I was impressed with the quality and timeliness of the work the prices were unreal. I priced each part at local parts stores and the eight parts combined were marked up over 116% (I priced all OEM parts). I mentioned this to Jessica when I picked my car up and her response was "Well I dont know where you got those prices". AutoZone, OReilly, and Napa I understand everyone needs to make a living and would not have minded a modest charge to pick up the parts, but to add 116% to parts that were already marked up by the original seller is just taking advantage of customers when they are in need. I later called back and talked to Rich the Service Advisor and was told the prices are marked up because they have to install them, well is that not what the labor charges are for.... And since I brought up labor, they charged me over two hours of labor at $124.50/HR to change two radiator hose and the thermostat. I dont know how these people sleep at night.
